Good Morning Mutants !!!!!

Old and new mutants both, I am sending you all well wishes from northern Indiana and a balmy 51° for now, tomorrow I head north to find venison for the freezer and I'll be back in 10 days or so. Its hard to believe I had to read over 100 posts to catch up.

And for our veterans I wish to say thank you for your service if it wasn't for you who knows what would have befallen the good old US of A .......

Cheers !!!!!!

This particular image holds my attention and begets my deepest reverence:
Attachment 78668

Joseph Ambrose, an 86-year-old World War I veteran, attends the dedication day parade for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in 1982, holding the flag that covered the casket of his son, who was killed in the Korean War.

That photo has a voice.

Time ... moves on ... we travel with it momentarily.

My father's veteran's flag in its triangular display box rests on a stair landing at home where I can see it every day. Hanging over it is a photo montage/story I did of him called Firewood. Every day, in a way, is Veterans Day for me.

Most of us probably have such personal connections to the day, don't we? Brings tears to my eyes. Daddy and his 4 brothers all survived WWII, while many did not.

Good morning mutants. It's a balmy 38 degrees here in North Texas. We'd be gone by now except for the traffic jam out on Southbound N Central Expressway.

Well lookey here! it never pays to fall asleep early. We just filled the last of the double digit mutancy spots. Welcome to the asylum, Carl.

I see Judy has passed down the broom to you. I'm sure Kerry will send the mop along soon. We single RVers have to double duty, but I find that preferable to having to deal with all of the other issues of living with
another human 24/7.

I also have a long lived traveling companion. Sena will hopefully add another 18-23 years to her current 17, even tho I frequently threaten to murder her for some of her naughty acts.

Expect to get a PM from me that let's you know the password to the RVM clubhouse. I'll see you there and hopefully on the rainbow, soon.

Yer not a real gone guy, then? Ruined my image of yerself.

G'mornin', BTW, to you and Annie ... and to all mutants hittin' the road today ... and to all of the RVMutanthood. And to ... oh, never mind. 😊

We had soma them throwed rolls at Lamberts in Sikeston, MO, last night. Plus fried okra, fried potatoes & onions, fried frog legs, a steak .... Lotsa pass-arounds that we ogled but passed up.

I been bad! 😈 But it was so good. 😋

Steve, we slept with the vents and the window beside the bed open here in Rockport last night. It's currently a balmy 72 degrees. Make sure you slam the door to North Texas when you leave. We don't want any of that cold mess down here. We have some mutated partying to do.

Sue and Martin, Don and Sandee, Marty and Bob -- that door slamming applies to you, too. Y'all hurry on down. I know Di and Larry are south of here and will bring some glorious sunshine up from Padre with them. I guess we'll see most of you on Friday.

1. I too have read all of the posts

2. I too welcome our newly christened mutants #98 and #99. You will adjust nicely, I'm sure, to the tongue in cheek banter that passes for meaningful conversation. You will find that mutantdom is worth the time and effort. There's not a nicer group on the earth.

3. I too want to thank all of the wonderful men and women who have served in our armed forces. Wartime, peacetime, front lines, or in support roles, it doesn't make any difference. Each has fulfilled a role that has made it possible to enjoy mutantdom. One of the things that makes me the proudest about being a teacher of history for 22 years is the fact that every one of my students learned of the sacrifices that others have made and are making on their behalf. I regularly invited veterans to my classroom to discuss with the kids what it was like to serve during the various wars. I like to think that my students were better Americans for the experience.

4. I too want to invite more mutants to attend the GC@CL redux 2.1 in April. The experience of matching faces with names and names to faces was worth the price of admission. My life has been changed forever (but my psychiatrist says that a second meeting will help with my adjusting to the experiences of life). Some visions simply are difficult to erase. I'M ONLY KIDDING WAYNE.

I too hate chatty posts. LOL
RVM #5 over and out.
