[QUOTE=Diwizi;2307946]Sue.
Larry lived in Baltimore, has worked at the Pentagon in DC, and said that Miami was the worse, UNTIL he drove into Houston, and it was a Sunday afternoon.... But coming out from Texas City area was not bad.... Just tell Martin that those drivers will do the unexpected..... And the signage isnt always clear... Stay out if the right two lanes..... Personally i think Nashville TN is worse...

I've discovered that, heading west from Rt. 59 at Cleveland, we have to go through Security before we get to Cut and Shoot. Got that in the right order!

Cheers!
Wow! Don't blink your eyes going through Security, as the population there is about 25. Some of those may be Longhorn cows.

Clevland to the KOA is about 35-40 miles. When you get to the Conroe area, take Loop 336 North around Conroe. As you get nearer to the crossover of I-45 you will see a lot of restaurants. Just near where 336 and 105 meet, on the left hand side as you are approchaing 105 is a Mexican restaurant called Margarita & Peppers. We enjoyed it.

There is a catfish place on the left hand side as you are traveling West on 105. We have eaten there a couple times and the fare was good.

Someplace we have not eaten at, but gets good reviews, is Giovanni's Continental Cuisine. It will be on the right hand side on 105 further down. There are loads of places to eat, including Pizza Hut when all else fails.

Wink Such RUDE Neighbors

Sandee & I are sitting in our coach this afternoon at the Lake Conroe KOA when some rude MH driver honks their air horn as they pull in the slot next to us.

Whoda thunk that Sue and Martin could be sooooooo rude!

Yep...Sue and Martin just happen to stop at the same CG and be parked right next to us! Such a pleasant surprise.

Looks like we will have a mini-caravan down to Rockport tomorrow morning.

Evenin Mutants!
In the middle of nowhere at a little Passport America park 10 miles south of Lampasas and 254 miles from Rockport. Seems we drove 215 miles to be as cold as we were back in Dallas. Going down to 26 or so here. Hot shower time and a little dinner.

Lest anyone think the trip was totally carefree - it wasnt. Apparently the charge back to battery isn't enough or isn't working to keep C-RVMutants battery charged. No worries. Extension cord - check - battery charger - check - 40 degrees and 25 nah wind 30 degree chill factor - check. LOL... should be good tomorrow and will pull 7.5 amp fuse. Life is good.

Now what's for dinner...

Evenin Mutey's!

Glad to see everyone movin about the rainbow safely. Marty you guys be careful headin South.

Barb and I are wishin we were on the road with ya. Thermometer says its 29 here with brisk North wind rockin Jenny every now and then. But we are tucked in nice and toasty 72. You all be safe and hoist one for us! Enjoy yourselves as I know you will.

Mel are you and Kate stayin warm up there in the dust bowl? Bet that wind is takin your breath away up there.

Possum is probably sittin up there in the frozen tundra laughing at us complaining about temps in the 20's. Talked to my brother in Wyoming stuck in a hotel room cause he can't get over the mountain pass to deliver a trailer. Low there is 6 below zero. That's just nuts!

Texas BBQ at a little spot in Conroe was dinner for us and our old friend Art this evening. He has about an hour's drive home to College Station ... in the dark. I don't envy him that drive.

Martin had to work out where to find the light switches this afternoon. He'd never driven this rig after dark before.

Steve called while we were still checking in, and told us about a strange mutant couple he knew of who happened to be in the same KOA that Wayne had told us about. (Earlene's "parking lot".) Such a ruckus they put up just over a little ol' airhorn blast. Just a little one.... And there they were, jumping up and down and banging on the door and all. Sheesh! Some people! 😝

Cheers!
