Steve, Annie, this is Tom. I'll tell Jan you said Hi. We are at our winter digs in Clearwater, Florida.
Hello to all of our mutants!
We have a bunch of things to catch up on, some maintenance stuff to do, stuff like that. Got some minor medical catch-up to do. You know how it goes................
I'm starting rehearsals for a stage play in a local theater. That will run in mid December. Jan is excited; we are putting in a combo washer/dryer in our condo. That will make living at home almost as nice as being in the Newmar................
We really don't know mush else, but will try to keep in touch.
Tom

I'm not sure they are here, exactly. Annie showed us one they had picked up along the way and Martin found another as we sat chatting. I musta picked this one up in Bonita and brought it back to Bella, where it transferred itself.
Good dog run here, but I don't know how well the CG polices its grass.
Looking forward to seein the 3 of ya!

I think they are actually sand burrs with those nasty spikes. Perhaps when you say goat heads we are talking the same as what we call sand burrs.
Sometimes I think that is the TX alternative to grass. LOL
The dog run is big but also very soft with lots of what It think are either mole or gopher areas. The grass in the pet run is deep and rough and makes "clean up" a bit more difficult unless the pet poop is very solid.

In MN we called them sand burrs. Being barefoot was a hazard, but we loved barefoot too much. Our feet got real tough; could walk on sharp stones. Now? "Tenderfoot"
The goat heads can work their way thru a croc and pierce yer foot. And those without mountain bike tires get flats. Yikes!

Sue posted a pick of what was called grass burs when I was growing up in Midland, TX. The plant resembles grass.
Dave posted a pick of goathead stickers, but what doesn't show up well is the spike that sticks straight up.
They both are painful from the poke and a burning sting from some chemical on them. They both grow in TX.

From what I see in the weather map, the burr is along the RGV.
