It's always a lengthy goodbye when mutants are involved. We were the last of today's Rockport departures. Wouldn't you know that the best weather of the week happens the day we leave. Despite the gloomy, rainy weather, going back to Rockport was a blast. So many childhood memories revisited and lots of new STM memories forged this past week.

We'll get to spend time with a few RVMs who are venturing to Florida's west coast in the months to come and look forward to GC1.2 in April.

Safe travels and hugs to all!

Probably was especially for Wayne.

Talking about games ...
Kate & I won a cow chip toss years ago at a group campout in the Hill Country. Woot, woot. You do know that you wear gloves and use dried cow patties, Dave. You toss 'em into a tow sack that your partner holds open from 40 feet away.

Time to get ready for wor ... wrrrrr ... wooorrrr .... Can't bring myself to say it. That thing I do that let us buy the MH.

Hope everyone is well, happy and planning on going to CL in April.

I would like to think that the thousands of miles we've driven back and forth on the Island will have proved out and this will thing will be settled.

I nominate Mel and Kate for referees. They are already experienced as champions so should not be allowed to become ringers.

You never attend campfire gatherings. The only difference is this BS actually has substance.

No problem with cow chips. Just make sure Dennis (Possum) is there and there will be plenty of BS.
Hey big guy you're starting to get awful personal here, donchaknow?

No problem there either. We'll just open the back of your Jeep (TOAD) and toss them in there. Anyone that can hit the back of the head of the owner sitting in the driver's seat is a winner.
Get's my vote.

Wanna put odds on that pending warmth.

If all goes well and the creeks don't rise we're trying to plan an excursion south for a few weeks this winter. No real destination thought of other than warmth.

Few vestiges of snow left at Bob's mom's place. Her sweetie is taking good care of her....and she is doing well. Now for the last 3 hour segment of the journey! I think we'll beat the 10 O'Clock news!

Before I go back and see what I missed today, I have some serious Mutant crap to write about.

This morning I was all ready to move my MH out of our site and hook up the TOAD. Do you think that is going to happen. No! ZLarry pulls his bus right in front of our site and commences hooking up his JEEP! Well, not that much of a problem we just walked up to those staying behind and said our good bye, sorrily so.

Fast forward. We pull up by the office, eventually, to hook-up. I go in and tend to my business. The very nice lady asked, "Is that one of your group that just pulled out?" And I said, yes, that it was Larry Z....

Guess what that sucker did. He stuck me with his $116.24 electric bill.

Larry, didn't they tell you that you had to pay your electricity when you left? What were you going to do, stick Steve with the bill? I feel bad enough for Steve with him having to put up with you right across from you! That is why "I" picked up your excessive electric bill.

For crying out loud.

More to today's saga......

Earlene sends:
Well, is it Friday The 13th, or is it really the 21st.

We had just left our RV park to stop for diesel and a lady in a high-stepped Dodge Ram backed into the car. She said she saw the bus but didn't see the little car, like Lincoln MKX qualifies as a little car. Then she says she doesn't have her license and insurance with her, [license was inside the convenience store where she works] calls her husband who is a border patrol agent at a meeting in DC and he wants to pay cash for the repairs. [He gives here the insurance policy number over the phone] Yeah, right, we are going to Texas City in 10 days and going to hold off until then and trust they will send cash. No way.

Of course, our insurance agent has been notified and all we can do most likely is have a temp fix until we get home. Oh, and it is more than likely getting rain in right now because we just hit a good shower. Oh woe is Wayne, eh?

=======================
From Wayne:

We arrived in San Antonio around 3:30 p.m., got unhooked and electric and water set up. Then I went to the nearest collision place ProCare Collision, 6430 Fairdale Drive, San Antonio, TX 78218. Phone (210) 488-9346. Fantastic customer service.

My concern was to try and have them pop the door back int a tighter fit to keep the water from getting in. The person in the office went out to the car, in the rain, came back in and said he had opened the window and popped the door back in. It needs some serious cosmetic skin reconditioned.

Hey! All is safe on the rainbow and that is what counts.

Oh my don't they see that shark... looks like he let them out on the beach. Whew....

Happy the two of you are OK. That looks like a serious repair and replacement would probably be cheaper and more significant as far as looks and assurance goes.

Doncha just hate it when that kinda crap happens.

Cry, cry, it's not even a year old yet. I wonder if Earlene would let me replace the car!

Nah! Never mind. That will not happen.

It is what it is, and then it is what you make of it. It will still get us from point A to point B.

Wayne hope it works out. We got rear ended not to long ago and first thing I did was walk to rear of the other car and snap pic of his license plate. Good thing cause he wrote out his info and left before the cops arrived. All info bogus, but officer called me about 30 min later telling me they stopped him, car borrowed, he has issues before, my insurance had been notified, turned out well!

Yeah! I also snapped a picture of the license plate.

I should have taken more pictures of the surrounding "scene." Didn't!

p.s., lady said that the mirrors were to high with the raised truck so she couldn't see the car. I said a back-up camera would be useful. She stated she had one in the truck but never uses it. Duh!!
