Two mutants have arrived in the RGV. There are still lots of open spaces. I was able to pull into to my back in space. Al and his golf cart lead us in... we got set up and sat down. It's hot down here..

The Discovery now tucked all snug in its barn, grand babies back home, toys in floor all gone, fire in fireplace, Mary in her kerchief me in my Jammie's, and dreams of sleeping late all dance in our heads. We're tired!!

One is the open faced portable with the triple LNB that will get all the DISH channels. You could borrow Mary from Tim to set it up. I always had problems with those portable open faced antennas in alignment.

So, I purchased a Carryout. They are totally automatic and they will receive all the DISH satellites, 110, 119, 129, or the DirectTV 101. They will not receive DirectTV HD. Once set up it is totally automatic except that it will only see one satellite at a time, which means you have to watch the channels off the same satellites if you are using more than one TV

After my purchase of the Carryout, they came out with the Anser antenna. You have to turn the head of the antenna to acquire the elevation, then it becomes automatic and find DISH 72 satellite and receives all the programming off that one satellite. Watching two different TV is possible with this antenna. It can be used with the majority of receivers

Then they came out with the Pathway X2 that looks identical to the Anser excpet it is totally automatic and uses DISH 72 satellite. It can only be used with the 211 and 411 receivers.

I'm glad I could be of assistance.

One other thing. If you wish to use your present antenna, and it is just not pointing in the right direction you can just turn the MH around in the parking lot until you get the signal. For elevation you can use boards.

Anytime.
Hey Wayne !!

Thanks for the info, I'll check into it. I have found that the winegard carryout G2 is between 500 and 600 and if you purchase the roof mount 50 you can mount it right where the other one was and then replace the dome. I'll have to call a couple mobile satellite services to see what's up with that. I guess the Beaver us going to get another Christmas present. The portable isn't a bad unit but its just one more thing to stuff in already full bays. My MotoSAT only has the one gun on it and the new receiver seems to require three, but I am a complete novice about satellite systems, so for that I'll have to pay for. It isn't a huge deal, just another day on the rainbow.

Cheers !!!

Healing ohms requested

My dear fellow mutants

My what a day this has been. Went to my eye doctor with clouded vision in my left eye. She sent me to a retina specialist at the Midwest Eye Institute.

I had an emergency procedure done on both eyes this afternoon. The left eye has a detached retina. They inserted a gas bubble to see if this will repair the problem. If not, I will likely have surgery in the next few days to continue the attempt to restore my sight in that eye. While examining the left eye the doctor found 2-3 tears in the right retina. He did a laser procedure to fix this problem (hopefully). The cause is unknown as well as the prognosis on the left eye.

Continue to pray for me as I struggle with the doctor's orders concerning the sitting position necessary to promote healing. I have to keep my head tilted at a 80 degree angle to give the bubble a chance to do its magic. I continue to be positive concerning the outcome.
