It's always less scary to stay where you are rather than venturing into the unknown. Marty, did you forget to inform him he is a grand mutant and exploring this world second nature?

Eli, welcome to this side of the cervix. Can't wait to meet ya. Let's make a date for late April 2015, OK?

Dennis,

Did you make the bench they are sitting on? They certainly look as if they are enjoying the show.

Dang! 147 posts to ketchup on. That'll teach me to not have an extra Mifi battery when mine croaked.

Well...

Our Gunny is in the hospital tonight. We took him into a vet because he hadn't eaten for a couple days and he was coughing. The short story is that he has pneumonia but is in good hands.

Tonight he is still receiving intravenous fluids, anti-biotics and medicine to stop the nausea. Tomorrow the goal is to pick him up from the hospital, take him back to his treating vet and see if we can feed him. If we can do all of that he holds his food down then we bring him home.

There was a funny thing that happened in this. Last night I gave him 2 Pepto-Bismol tablets hoping to help is stomach feel better. Today they did X-rays and we got a call in the afternoon and they were worried that he had a foreign object, maybe a penny, in his intestines. Later when we saw the Vet she said that after we got the call she had remembered we told her about the Pepto-Bismol and that because of the tablet's contents, it look like a coin. WHEW!

I blamed Mary Ann hitting for me in the night. She denied ever doing it. But seriously, I have no knowledge of any particular event to cause the problems. The retina specialist thought that the 2 or 3 tears on the right eye were 2 months to a year old. The detachment was fresh and I didn't experience any event that would have caused it. My eye developed a sphere shaped cloudy spot across the right half of the eye and then things went black about 12 hours later.

Trauma is the #1 reason but he said sometimes it just happens. He also said that nearsighted people experience a lot more of these two problems. Age is a factor also. But I'm way too young for that.

Mary Ann returns your hugs.
