Welcome Aboard Falcon 190,

I look forward to reading your posts and ponderances, this is a great group, and very insightful as well. I for one am hopeful that one day we will enjoy a great curiosity rally. But until then we will have to suffice with our thread.

Cheers !!!

Hello sfi4,

Sounds like you had a very busy trip, hopefully someday you will be able to just go from one trip to the next and not have to return to your S&B. Until then we wish you the safest of trips always.

Cheers !!!

Photo of the day!

Today's offering. This was actually not taken with a lens, but rather with a type of pinhole called a zone plate affixed to a regular camera body.

Well it's been quite a holiday weekend in the RVMdom. We have timarti offering great photos, some excellent ponders, Dogpatch has found his family and Mort the RV mascot the next in a series of mutant machines, two new RVMs and discovered kayaking is another mutant activity, along with the appreciation for Foxfire and other books, Annie and I got to practice backing up a long country road, much bacon was consumed for National Bacon Day, and so much more. It is amazing how much we mutants enjoy our little RVMdom and appreciate hearing from one another.

We are fortunate and rich indeed! Well done mutants. Well done!

My seat is very adjustable via a strap that supports the back at any angle. Recumbent may be possible. The fact that on calm water you don't get bounced around makes kayaking easier on a bad back.

I bought my Emotion Comet 8 from REI on sale last Spring. Like needing something hard between me and possible snakes, I needed to know it couldn't suddenly deflate and leave me to be gator bait. No inflatables for this scaredy cat, regardless of the quality. I've not seen a folding yak, so I'll reserve judgement.

At first glance, before reading your text, I thought that was a tornado pic. I lived in TX, OK, and KS way too long, LOL.

Great tree pic!

Wow once again I miss a couple of days and return to find we have grown again! WELCOME new members Threshl and Falcon! Steve you have more to ponder keeping up with our growing group!

Catching up on my reading I am so glad to see we mutants paid tribute to what should be declared as our mutant official national holiday... National Bacon Day. Barb and I celebrated with two pounds of maple cured thick sliced heaven for breakfast and dinner! Boneless butterflied chicken breast stuffed with ricotta cheese and wrapped in bacon cooked over grill along side of bacon wrapped stuffed green peppers. What a celebration feast we had! Neighbors on both sides followed the aroma over to our campsite.

Happy mutating brothers and sisters!

Herb - I thought I smelled peppers and bacon. Lol. Hey did you get rain over there last night thru about 11 am or so? Was nice while it lasted but turned into a bit of a sauna a little later.

And can ya believe it - 47 RVMs and counting. At this rate we'll need a fair ground for an all mutant curiosity. Will step up my hunt for a RVM intern before too long.

I too have been doing some catch up reading. Lots of great information, new mutants and interesting ponderances. The one quote that seemed to stick with me was from Okmunky. "I'm a novice yakker" now back in the day that DW worked at Central, latter known as AT&T and talked on the phone for pay, we said she was a professional yakker! Seems that words mutat also.

Might try some yakking. Have done some paddling in a canoe and a kayak before, but I kind of like the new terminology.
