I like that idea -- secret waypoints. Also who's heading where & by which route. Curiosities might pop up like popcorn in a fire.

BTW, Here's where we are:

Cold front moving through tonight with a little lightning in the distance. No rain here though. It cooled off enough this evening (from 107* down to 78*) that the bonfire was a nice centerpiece for conversation. Nobody sat closer than about 12', though!

Tomorrow we're looking at 80s & on Friday in the 70s. Now that's more like it!

Cheers!

We are back with champagne in tow, had a wonderful dinner at the Horn in Camp Verde, Grilled Salmon and Medium Rare Skirt Steak with roasted Portabellas, it was a feast in and of itself, Thank you to all that have wished us a Happy Anniversary we are blessed and continue to reap blessings each and everyday, thankfully we are to busy doing things to get mad at each other for inconsequential nonsense.

I think the newsletter idea is a good one and way points for other to follow is also a great idea. When Dave (RVM 1) said he was going to be in Prescott, and Prescott only an hour away from Camp Verde, well it only makes sense to get together and do a Jeep outing, the views and vistas are incredible up here.

Cheers !!!

To Jeff and Marcia:

Congratulations on 36 years together! Thanks for the beautiful puzzle pix. I've been thru Sedona and I know the rocks are SO much more vibrant when the sun is shining. You make me want to go back there, but that can't happen until Spring.

To Steve:

Well why didn't you say so in the first place. NOW I get it. What is it you would like us to email you again. Now that I understand, you have my attention.

Sena says in exchange for a tasty treat, she will grant you the rights to all photographs of her.

How about sending RVM2 precise GPS coordinates and a contact phone number when submitting the "secret overnight spots"? Also known as SOS. Provide a sample menu selection of free meals too !! I like that part. "Honey, I just got a call from an inbound landing party of 10 due here in 15 minutes. They are not picky about the dinner menu as long as it includes something ... bacon."

I presume appropriate photos may also be submitted to show the parking area.

Well fellow mutants, I made some progress on the first and perhaps final RVM News last night.
I have to say that as a first edition, it has run a little longer than a routine edition would - 8 pages - but several contain pictures - 2 columns with a heathy gutter between them and white space. The length is also due to covering things that will not be included in the future as I am light on things that will be important going forward. I have some editing and cleanup to do but I think I will be able to deliver next week.

I have now received or otherwise have 7 or 8 email addresses in my rvm2.rvmdom@gmail contacts. So keep up the good work.

As a first edition I have 6 Sections. They are:
1 Welcome - Why a RVM Newsletter etc.
2 How It All Started
3 The Ponder
4 Focus on Photos
5 Miscellaneous - This time - Mutual Mutant Activities Noted - and thoughts toward the future of RVM News
6 The Roster

I have included a section for the good stuff too. This is where I'm weak on details but with your input we may be able to harness our collective mutantness.

Examples - Two Parts for stationary Mutants - Who Is Holed Up Where and Who Is Headed toward a 2 or more week stay. Secret Mutant Way Points of which we have two. Events - these can be Curiosities, Festivals you think others might like to know about etc.

Several mutants are running blogs - I know of two - and have a place for hot-linked blogs to corral them and facilitate book marking, or highlight a new mutant blog.

This time around there are photos depicting one of our mutants journey through three coaches since 1981 that were never before seen in our thread. Also - 4 jeep photos - Whose Jeep Is This?

Like I said - much that will not be repeated if there is another issue. Some that may end up as useful tables of events, contacts, etc., rather than text - and some yet to be discovered items I'm sure.

We shall see mutants. We shall see.

Wow !!!!

You have put a lot of work and thought into this Steve.. Well Done .... If you have a guideline that you would want to send out for us to fill out so you have the information for the roster that would be great it may well save you time instead of trying to pick it all out of over 2000 posts.

Also we have shared a moment of silence and a cup of coffee for those that perished last year and 12 years ago in the attacks on our country, I can remember exactly what I was doing in both instances that I heard the news. In time I think we as a nation will get better and stronger, but it will take time.

Cheers !!!
