I think I need to cook up some bacon today... any suggestions on a meal to make with it?
I have found the need to squirrell some of it away into the freezer so it actually will last until the next shopping trip... as someone thinks he needs to consume it daily... and as it is not the pastured kind... not sure his cholesterol levels are going to tolerate the daily abuse....so... if I can put a little of his favorite flavor into some meals in small amounts...any idea cooks? What are your favorite recipes which include the amazing taste of bacon in moderation?

Just looking at ideas for grandkids.... Heart shaped grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches....
We do not eat meat every day for breakfast Our bacon is always a night meal as we eat cereal for breakfast.....

Love BLT, love bacon with eggs or pancakes, french toast etc. i rarely use bacon in a recipe because i want the bacon to itself..... But it is great on a fritata,

Another way i do use, is crumbled cooked bacon with grated cheddar, some onions, and mayo to hold it as a cheese ball....
But one step further, stuff mushroom caps and broil, or broil on a potato skin, So yummy....

Diane toftSFM#64....... (The Original Fast Talking Sliding Finger Mutant) and is retired, duh!

Strange coincidence!
I am cooking just a bit of bacon to put on GF english muffins with cream cheese. Bona petit, Marty and Bob!

There will be cow chip tossing, bring your own gloves!

Tim, I put some thoughts onto the website the other day. Can you get to them or is that only seen by the Great Potentate?

I need to check the Website mail. Will look later today. It's too nice today to mess with websites. Got up at 10 yippee! I really slept in today - first time since I don't know when.

Most forums will allow you to delete attachments using the "manage attachments" option on the Reply to Post screen, but apparently iRV2 doesn't. So like Marty said, your best option is to sign up for a photo sharing website such as Photobucket, Picturetrail, etc. and upload your photos to there. You can then copy and paste the URL of the photo using the small yellow "mountain" icon at the top of the Reply to Post box.

I've always been a night owl, so I excel at sleeping in.

I will not respond to the PMs, but it will give you time to wipe the baconitis drool from your chins.
Happy days, STMs!

Marty, I think the expression "bacon in moderation" is an oxymoron. I like to crumble crisp bacon on potatoes, salads or on top of soups. Other than that I can't think of any moderate bacon consumption at our house.

OK, I know y'all have probably seen this...but it just makes me smile every time. (Not to mention, the Roger Miller song reminds me of my sons watching "Robin Hood" over and over again when they were little guys.)

I agree, Sarah!
Today we are having a 3-slice per moderate baconized brefast.
Baconus Moderatus is a difficult concept. Baconus Humongus is much easier.

Today some bacon will find itself next to two hammocks and make the collard greens and turnips better.

Bacon and hammock always find their way into our green beans. Seems turnips or diced potatoes do as well.

The foil packs of buttered and seasoned cabbage on the grill are made better with bacon.

Bacon wrapped around any kind of pepper - stuffed or not is 2 thumbs up.

Wait... this isn't the bacon thread... what was I thinking. Lol. Afternoon and still not awake.

Today I had cantaloupe for breakfast. Have wrapped prosciutto around cantaloupe before. Wonder if bacon would work - cooked and skewered onto it with a toothpick. Hmm now I'm thinking shrimp rumaki....
