I was kind of like that Marty when we first got a treadmill. Burnt more calories moving that darn thing around the house than I ever did using it!

I have one of those stick blenders that you could stick into a 5 gallon bucket if you need greater capacity.

Extra Thiamine May Make Mosquitoes Think You Stink A study back in the 1960s indicated that taking vitamin B1 (thiamine) may be effective in discouraging mosquitoes from biting. However, studies since then have been inconclusive.18 The theory is, taking more vitamin B1 than your body requires causes the excess to be excreted through your urine, skin, and sweat. Vitamin B1 produces a skin odor that female mosquitoes seem to find offensive.
This vitamin is water-soluble, and there is no danger of toxicity—even at high doses—so it is a safe measure to try. Dr. Janet Starr Hull recommends taking one vitamin B1 tablet a day from April through October, and then adding 100 mg of B1 to a B100 Complex daily during the mosquito season to make you less attractive to mosquitoes. You may also want to forgo bananas during mosquito season, as something about how they are metabolized appears attract mosquitoes. Research also suggests that regularly consuming garlic or garlic capsules may help protect against both mosquito and tick bites.
and the source where I found it this time is here: Simple Preventives on How to Avoid Mosquito Bites. but the first time I found it was in a Rodale magazine, either organic gardening or their health one (Prevention) long ago .... ( Like late 70's or early 80"s)

Thanks Marty! Have you tested this theory?

Yes... I took it before I went to girls camp ( June) one year before I forgot about it and it helped... worked on Chiggers for me some too...however, a heavy lotion that has citrus essential oils in it worked better on chiggers, and didn't do too shabby for mosquitoes either when I forgot about the B vitamin... It's water soluble so you sweat it out and no worry about overdoing it....and doesn't need to be applied before exposure if you just take it daily.

At least I don't have to worry about mosquitos right now...
To quote an old weather-related joke, I shoveled around 8 inches of "partly cloudy" out of the driveway today. Still have to clear a path out to the 2 ruts everyone is driving in (this street has been plowed once in the last 12 years...).
Think I'll play hooky from w**k tomorrow...
Either I'm getting better at keeping caought up or you all have been quieter lately...I was only behind about 6 pages tonight...

It makes great smoothies - frozen margaritas - fruit juice - vegetable juice - and an awesome applesauce.
Quarter an apple - seeds and all - toss in some grapes - cinnamon... chunky - smooth.
It is the definitive 1/4 HP blender. They are almost wood chippers disguised as blenders.

Whew! Done caught up. Kin I go ta bed now?
Played for the variety show Friday:
which was a hoot. It's now rained pretty much all weekend, that straight down, drenching, tropical sort of rain you get here. No fire ants for us, but that's just dumb luck. They're here; we just haven't stepped in em. Yet!
We spent much of today packing for our last cruise of the season; leaving tomorrow morning. Cozumel is the destination this time and we're looking forward to the change in scenery and routine. And the food, of course. We may be soon giving His Roundness a run for his title.
Sleep and the CPAP are calling my name. I can hear em: Soooo-eeee!!! If they'd only put a "t" on the end, I'd like it better, but no.
Night all!
