Ponder alert! We haven't had a sure enough ponder in a while so here goes.
How do weathermen test the IQ of the weather?
Tonight they are reporting a Dense fog, not a smart fog, a thin fog but a Dense fog. I've heard the same reports on rain as well!

Is a dense fog denser then say a 6" rain ? Out here in Yuma a 6" rain is a drop about every 6" of course there are denser rains some as close as a half inch.

Oh by the way Marcia and I got to enjoy supper with Dave and Deb tonight, there was so much laughter and so much talking we hardly had time to eat, and we ran out of time to take pictures but, I assure you all it did in fact happen !!!

Cheers !!!!

And what the heck is "freezing fog"??? If fog freezes, how can it hang in the air? Wouldn't it just fall to the ground?

Long answer... snow's gone from the pastures, a little remains in the ditches, was over freezing today, turning into muddy paw season... but it has dipped below freezing again tonight but should get up to close to 60 within a week.... it's getting close to potato planting time!( if it will dry out...)
Short answer... yes.

The weatherman says high of 87 tomorrow and 47 the next day. We started packing things up today. Put the smoker away unused. :(

Winds 10 to 40... come on.. Give me a break lol. 40 degree swings in the high and winds that vary by 30 mph. I'm telling ya... Latuda for the weather... I know. I know. No snow. No ice. And not freezing. But skitzo....

I've heard that potatoes should be planted on March 17, St Patrick's day. Supposed to bring good luck for a bountiful harvest. But then again, I've heard that they should be planted when the moon is dark. Do you have some special way to time you potato planting time Marty

We were seldom planting according to any signs, potatoes were done first chance that garden area was tilled and dry enough to work. Everything else after Easter to avoid frost. Large garden area will now be in middle of new pasture, we will have a small area in yard this year!
