Now Barb that would take all the fun out of diggin tators!
Our new life style ( not to be confused as a diet) dosnt allow potatoes or at least not many. Of course the yield of a bag might be enought for a year at our new rate of consumption.

Nope, Barb... tried the tire thing one year without good results. I don't often plant potatoes much anymore... I rather grow sweet potatoes. (taters are cheap to buy...). I have so many other things I want to grow and only so much area tilled up....and of course, the more area I till, the more I must weed....

Weed. That sounds like work. Barb finds weeding therapeutic as I recall. Have her stop by at weeding time. She knows how to find you!

Here's a weather update from the lovely RGV... 84 degrees today. Tomorrow high in the 30s with a wind chill factor in the 20s. Happiness will be RGV in the review mirror - Mel - do you know a song that has a similar line... ?

Saw Dan in the 70s.. he was awesome. Thanks for that Dennis. Naomi Eisenberg and Maryann Price were just plain marvelous. They played together later down the road - but to me - they nor Dan are the same without each other.

When the weeds started to outdistance my time and ambition, I put 4 layers of newspaper in the rows weighted with stones. Only had to weed the rows! I heard about this from my Mom, so it had to work!
In the Fall, it was all mulched in.
Easy-peasy, tomato squeezy
