KAS - you and Gary embody the RVM spirit! Plan your work, and work your plan. You will be there before you know it. It's the journey that's so wonderful. The destination is the cherry on top - small by comparison, bright and colorfully, but no more interesting - hardly necessary, but incomplete without it.

All I saw was bacon! And we are RVM Ropies as well. No need to apologize or warn. There are closet ropies too. And then there are the no rope lighters. Glad to see you were able to pull together enough bacon for a party of two!!

Dave, we were there in Aug. hate we missed a chance for a curiosity! If my picture post, you will see the bridge in the background from our campsite. Didn't make the ridge drive, too many other things to do while there. Got to see bridge from below, but couldn't take pic, had hands full of paddle. The Gorge float trip was great! Bummer about the fire, was hoping to drive across the bridge, next time maybe.

My apologies for last night's rant. It was intended to educate and was not directed at anyone. You may have noticed that I have had to defend my choice... and my right, to have Sena in my life on more than many occasions.

It's never been easy, but it's usually a heck of a lot of fun.

I found it interesting and informative. far cry from a rant when a person actully learns from a post.

The 97 crossing I was talking about was the place where hwy 97 crosses the big river and there are trains running amok all over the valley. I thought it was you who posted about the rv park there.

X2 - and aside from learning - I'm also glad to know Sena will be safe. I didn't mean to suggest a rant at all. I think we mutants are truly GRAND in our interest in and goodwill toward each other. We are a remarkable curiosity.

I really don't get why Sena and her primate family members - draw such ire from some people. Ignorance I guess. I have a friend from India. At their country home there is some type of native monkey that lives on their property. She says even though they are not domesticated, they become like family members. Another friend shared his pictures and videos of Gibraltar - many happy monkeys there! No one seems to have a problem. All too confusing to ponder.

Wow, for sure. Gibraltar is loaded with monkeys. I think those fellows even set up street shops and sell imported Chinese trinkets to the tourists!

Monkeys are so closely related to humans that we can't help but see some of ourselves in them. Monkey mommas are all fierce defenders of their monkids who often fill a void when the human kids leave the nest.

PETA and HSUS have well organized and well funded campaigns aimed at passing legislation in every state that will ban the private ownership of all non-human primates. These and other animal rights organizations believe that ALL animals should have the same rights as humans.

They are after us because we are the easiest target and there is so much that is misunderstood about monkeys. If they succeed, we will no longer be able to use animals in any capacity -- not for food, not for clothing, not to ride, no circus animals, NO BACON!!

I'm a strong supporter of animal welfare. All animals deserve proper care and humane treatment. Friends here in WA state have a primate sanctuary

Home

with several retired research monkeys. The torture that they survived is unbelieveable at times, but I have to remember that most of the time, many thousands of human lives have been spared or improved by the knowledge learned at the monkey's expense.

Ok, school is out for the next month or so. Time for me to be quiet. That's not easy. Where's the hands over the mouth smiley face?
