Be warned, Dave my act just a little different since you last saw him, he was sporting a Mohawk hairdo at the Luau! Fear not, Nola is still well grounded.
Ahem... a little different... lol.

Dave said it, too, about family gatherings -- we look forward to them and enjoy them thoroughly, but then are worn out afterward. Just like teaching a class.

I'm still running images through my mind from yesterday, much of the footage being from The Old Mill. Better than photos, at some level.

Cheers!

Back at the S&B

Got in late last night after a run from 10:30 in the morning till 2:30 (a.m. that is). The day before was also a late nighter due to lack of rest areas that would accommodate the RV/toad. Tried staying at one Lowe's but the neighborhood bothered me while I was locking up the toad so wound up traveling on to another rest area. Slept in till 10:30 am!!! It was a quiet welcome center just over the VA line that didn't allow trucks. Birds took it all in stride and both are happy to be in familiar territory again.

My temp patch held up fine and the tarps over the A/C's also didn't fall off or come apart. Hit some rain yesterday in the a.m. but no leaks! Got home and have three huge boxes from Newmar for the parts ordered (two are A/C covers and I guess the third is the shower shroud that the hail went straight thru after piecing the outer cover. The new cover is Lexan so hopefully it'll hold up better. I'm thinking of making some Lexan shields for the A/C covers for next time

Glad to hear others travels have been safe and uneventful. Time to go get the bike off the lift and get the RV settled in for a good cleaning…I still can't get over the fun factor had at the GC! Great to have met everyone and safe travels to those still moving about!!!

Now that's a good idea, Carl -- Lexan hail shields for all rooftop RV vents and covers. Glad you and the birds made it home safely.

I talked to a State Farm Insurance causality team that was set up in the Hot Springs Lowe's parking lot about claims advice. They suggested I file a claim even tho it might not meet my $2K deductible. Now I'm thinking it might be a good idea since I might have roof damage that I don't see. I walked on Steve's roof thinking it's ok but it seems his adjuster knew more than I did. Imagine that?

Are you coming through that area via STL I-70 or from the south I-55 & I-57? If you are coming via I-55 and you are looking for another nice overnighter spot consider Hinton RV Park in Sikeston, MO. The spots are all easy to get into and level. The one attraction is the Lambert's Cafe, home of the "Thrown Rolls". You won't go hungry and it is entertaining. Lines are often 1 hour or more for the wait but if you have the office call you a shuttle for the 5 minute drive, the driver will take you right on in and seat you at the first available table. Worth a $5 tip. BTW...they only take CA$H. That is our normal last stop before getting "home".

West coast got put off. Waiting to see if Sandee needs some shoulder surgery. Anyway we slice it we will be in Lewisburg, West, buy God, Virginia the last week of July for a Newmar rally then after that we are still cussing and discussing but we may make a run down the coast to the Keys. LOL We will end up on the RGV again this coming winter to enjoy the additional concrete we had added to our site before we left.

Well those things happen! You should really enjoys Sandees shoulder surgery, she'll be able to carry so much more after its done! Now you don't have to tell her I said that!

Hope things work out, had to have the rotator cuff fixed when I kept missing the phone cradle with the ear piece. Much better after having it fixed. Say hi from us!
