We may yet escape Little Rock CW today. The short has finally been located and George is hard at work rewiring.
It may mean we only drive as far as Hayti, MO, tonight due to the late start, and Martin thinks he only needs 1 overnight to get home. We might have to miss them thar throwed rolls. Dang!

Hayti typically has some of the best fuel prices between LR and CMI. We got our fuel there before heading up to Sikeston. If you aren't in too darn much of a hurry...keep Steve company for a night and duck as the rolls are tossed at you.

When we were there last week they had the MLB equivalent roll dude tossing them things long ways across the room, behind his back and every way in between. The dude was GOOOOOD!
BTW...along with your order they have the "pass arounds" that they bring to the table. Even if you don't have a plate get a paper napkin on the table and let them fill it with fried okra. The fried potatoes are great. They also carry around apple butter or sorghum molasses for the rolls. Love the sorghum.
Don't forget to bring CA$H.

One sure way to check fuel prices is by going to
GasBuddy.com - Find Low Gas Prices in the USA and Canada
I always start checking when I get about 300 miles since the last fillup. I bought unleaded for $2.089 yesterday just east of OKC. Most other stations were 10-40 cents higher. It sure helps my budget!
Now if I could just trust Sena to find the right town so I didn't have to stop driving in order check gas prices.

The rolls live up to the legend. And the okra does too. Waiting on catfish and white beans and ham...

Thanks Barb! This place was way toooo easy to find: in the park brochure.
There is an attached Bush's Family Cafe. Even has bean deserts!
Duke was not there today. Probably jury duty.
All 3 of you ladies please stay safe, warm, and dry!

I just wish we could get a real time satellite view so we could see how backed up they are and if there are any fuel trucks blocking some of the pumps. I never wait until Friday afternoon to buy gas at Sam's and Costco. They are swamped! I have memberships and credit cards for both and get 5 and 3 cents cash back.
Costco sends an annual voucher, but I've learned that if you spend less than the voucher they give you the rest back in cash. Just got the Sam's credit card and haven't figured them out yet.

Did you and Annie take your fish nets to help you catch dem rolls? Since your fishing trip got canceled I figure you might need some practice landing sumptum sumptuous.
