Dave! Knock it off!

I think our mutant email runs in the same mutant circle.

Mutants of a feather mutate together.

Ponder this, have base plate advertised on hitch trader .com, lady text me she wants to purchase for my $125.00 asking price. Great! Next text tells me she will send a check, allow it to clear bank and I m then to contact her so she can have her movers pick it up. Ok. Then she text that the check has been sent, I can cash it, take my money out and pay the mover she sends. Right.

Today's text ask if I got check, her tracking # tells her it was delivered, I wasn't at home at the time but said I'd contact her when I was home letting her know if I got check. Sure Nuff express mail envelope in mail box, inside was a check for $1890.00 and nothing else. She text again asking did I get check and telling me I can deposit it in any ATM. Funny thing, check has a company name and address in Il., envelope has return address in MD. and using the reverse phone book her # is in NY.

Did I mention that the base plate sells new for 3 to 4 hundred dollars including shipping.

Ok, so here is the question, do you think this lady is paying too much in transportation fees to her movers, or what?

Wait until she texts you asking for the "oops" overpayment to go back to her via Western Union. Then call the cops. Sounds like a scam artist to me. Did you ever speak to her or only text?

I'd call the company listed on the check Monday AM and see if it exists, then speak to the Accting manager to see if it is stolen? ATM deposits on the weekends don't get to the bank for days.

The "movers" may be in on the scam. Be careful!

I think it works like this.

You can deposit the check and get your money, but when the check hits her bank and there is no money, they'll take it out of your account.

Tell her to send movers with $125 cash to swap for your base plate. She can pre-pay her movers with one of her rubber checks.

I don't know how to use Yahoo. I have a login id, password and user name. I can get there by Barbs link, but not on my own. Also don't see "messages", only mail. I have decided I don't like Yahoo.

Ok, it seems like the best way to get on the list is to send me a PM thru irv2. Just include the email address you want your messages sent to in your PM.

Growing pains are tougher the older we get.
