So I guess when they got up on the roof (Service manager had already looked at it but said nothing to me until he talked with insurance) they were able to see the massive damage. Don't really know, but sure hope the insurance comes through. It's what we have insurance for, right?

Thanks Wayne. When cleaning mine over the weekend, I found ONE, and only ONE spot on the side of the RV where it made a mark. Not even a dimple but more like a crack in the paint itself. Other than that, I've found nothing on mine and I've checked it quite thoroughly knowing you ran into the dents you have. I'll go back to not worrying

What's going to be interesting for those of us hit by Hail of GC is whether insurance actually stands by the "no penalty" for mother nature.

Ah gee.. Wayne and Earlene, Citrus is quite the appropriate name for your ol gal... I hope she gets fixed up good for you soon!
Wondering if you'd be ahead to trade her in on something different... but probably not.

Yea, I won't find that out for a year, all my policies just renewed prior to the Hail of GC.

It has to be approved by a higher authority than the field adjuster. They can only go to about $8k and anything above that needs higher supervisor authority.
Stay tuned.
Bad day in bedrock. Earlene was very sad.

So what kind are ya gonna get? As much as ya have sunk in, ya cant afford to trade....
Really sad, that as much as these beasts cost, they ought to be well engineered and in good working order..... Just makes me ponder......... Why? Or maybe Why Not?
Ours remains untouched, Larry just hasnt felt like fixin it....

I have a ponder about RV insurance. I filed a claim with State Farm and they said for me to get an estimate and submit it. I considered just dropping the whole thing since I have a $2K deductible on comprehensive. But if I don't submit an estimate to prove the damage done at CL, what impact would that have on any future claim?

None - it's your choice to finish filing the claim or not. If you choose to take it on, just let them know the quote was less than your deductible and you have it covered.

I'd be upsidedown. We're not as rich as all the other mutants.

You are correct, to much invested to let it all go. We like the layout. We were finally getting all the bug worked out, and now this.

Barb, I don't know how he comprehensive works but for collision there is a short period of time where you have to notify the insurance company. That notification does go "on the record." I don't know if they have to honor one that is not reported for several weeks. I think the reason for that is that they would not be able to determine if the problem was caused anywhere in between the dates.

If you filed a notice, as far as records go that is the same as filing a claim. It will be part of your record for insurance purposes. Many, many years ago I once notified my car insurance of a car accident but that I was going to take care of it myself. That was, I was going to pay for the other cars damage, and mine. The notification was just in case the other party filed. A second claim caused our insurance to go up because of two accidents in a specified time and it was listed on the insurance AND CarFax.The stockholders are going to get their money.
