Good Morning Mutants!!
Well our April 24-30th 2014 First Ever Grande Curiosity is coming together nicely! Our PM effort - thanks to Barb and Tim - is getting some responses.
One in particular is this. RVM35 mtnmankev - has throw in the towel on his restoration. He said there was too much rodent damage to wiring I believe to move forward. He indicated we could reassign his mutant number - but it was written long ago (ok, 4 or 5 months ago) that once a mutant, always a mutant. RVM 35 is now designated - Sidelined, which is a temporary state.
So for mtnmankev - this morning I send up the Oooommm Oooooommmm another Motorhome Oooommm for Kevin. (or RV type / class that will fit his mutation).
Another fine day on the rainbow - it may be a 2 week visit - but it's great to be home on the rainbow!
Fridge is doing as it should - all good in the mutanthood.

RVM35 ... If you are reading this, let us fellow mutants know what specs are for your idea of another motorhome. Just like hubcaps, give me make and model and I can have something for you by midnight or shortly after.

Pondering - while driving the winding back roads of Tx Hill Country yesterday it occurred to me that the locals must be psychic. I have noticed this elsewhere and often in my journeys. How else can they know that around every blind bend or over the next hill - there isn't a heard of goats - a longhorn or two - and fly around and over them at 10 or more miles over the posted speed limit?
We all drive with a large helping of faith that such things as falling rocks, meteors, or cattle aren't waiting for us just right there... No matter what I'm driving - I am always on the defensive and cautious side. When a climbing lane opened up yesterday - before I could move into the lane - and a good 60 feet or more behind me - a pickup was on the shoulder and pedal to the metal and in the climbing lane before being in the paint.
As always - be careful out there mutants. Meteors aren't all that rare.

I just checked - you're 400 miles from Tucson - you may win the RVM Winter 14 Curiosity distinction - somewhere down those parts?

Hi Steve,
I just checked in, missed two days and had to catch up on six, count em six pages of ponderings, we will be coming from Yuma AZ to CL in AR. Yesterday we went on a drive down the Bloody Basin Road all the way to the Sheep Bridge, we saw many wonderful views along the way and even a cactus trying to make an escape from the basin, I will post pics just as soon as I get the chance, on the way back my trusty and dusty toad decided to deflate its right rear tire and would not re-inflate, and so I had to change it out for the spare, and Ill get that fixed today, you all are making great strides in the up and coming curiosity for next April, I am really looking forward to that. Life is good on this side of the rainbow.
Cheers !!!!

Steve,
When I am driving be it our home or the toad, it always amazes me those that are in such a hurry that they have that devil may care attitude and fly past without a care to the posted limits or the safety of those that happen to be in or near the space they wish to fly through, my DW and I always assume they have a very important meeting with a Governor or some such highly esteemed individual and that they must be late, yesterday traveling the backroads of AZ, we had very few meetings of such people and just had to pull over and watch ravens soaring on the updrafts of the mountains looking for food or an occasional lizard zipping through the underbrush trying to stay hidden. We stopped and opened our packed lunch in a dry draw, and wouldnt ya know it, we found trash left by others, and spent shotgun shells and burned tin cans in a makeshift fire ring made of stone, we were 25 miles away from any kind of permanent inhabitants and yet the litter was just as abundant as if we were near a landfill. To me that is a sad editorial of the human condition, some people just dont care if they leave a mess.
Cheers !!!!

Jeff - you are on the money. While I'm sure it need not be said - mutants pack out what the pack in - if not more. Just makes sense to leave it better than you fond it.

I was on the laptop the other day and saw we had 5 stars from 5 users - I had to give 5 myself. Lol.
It got to 98 hear yesterday - 1 degree from record and is doing it again today. If I hadn't bruised my ribs I'd be in the lake right now. Instead were chilling and putting the Splendide through it's paces. When it hits spin cycle - Sophie wiggles her feathers and I had to give Sparky a little talking to.
