Presently 92˚ and according to weather stats it feels like 101, and having just gone outside to the shed I really do believe them.
So, with that, Earlene is slaving in the kitchen cooking up some vitals that are going to be so, so good, and the sink decided it no longer wanted to be attached to the granite counter top. It tried to drop into oblivion. I guess the glue was just to old.
Anyhow, a few cuss words and a stick prop put it back into position until the plumbers can get here tomorrow. Where the heck are Dave, Dwayne and Ed when you really need them. Sheesh!
Always keep a stack of wood shims around the house. Never know when you might need them. I have had some out in the garage for many years, still in the cellophane packaging. Today I needed them. Says something about hoarding, eh?

Permit me, dear friends, to quote to you excerpts from an article in the July issue of MotorHome.
The author is Alan Rider. He is pondering that motorhome owners are, by nature, a diverse and independent bunch but if it were possible to get all of us to agree on any one thing, he’d like to think it might be that Woody Guthrie’s “This Land is Your Land” would be a fine official ode to our favorite mode of transportation.
Alan goes on to say that after 50 years of traveling, he’s still so smitten with life on the road that he’s generally not picky about the final destination. “Because, as Robert Louis Stevenson put it ‘I travel not to go anywhere but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move’ ”
Later on in his piece, Alan says he’s discovered something else we share – something quite unexpected that explains this boundless enthusiasm for travel. “I’m talking genetics here, people” he says.
He had recently read that scientists have found a gene that might help explain our wanderlust. It’s essentially a variation of a gene named DRD4 that controls dopamine, a neurotransmitter that stimulates the reward and pleasure centers of the brain. “Researchers say that some 20% of human beings have a version of that gene known as DRD4-7R that’s linked to restlessness and curiosity, leading those of us blessed with it to regularly crave new sights and experiences.”
Alan then suggests those of us who are in the minority and who understand this urge to wander need to stick together because, frankly, not everyone gets the fact that ‘any day on the road is a good day’.
Finally, Alan calls us to raise a toast to Woody Guthrie who reminds us that this land truly is our land and to genetic mutations that make us eager to get out and explore it.
Thank you, Alan, for that article – it made me smile.

Good articles... This was at the very back: "Ode to the Road"...
Thanks for calling that to my attention..

Quiet day in the RVMdom today. It's about 85 degrees which feels hotter. The CG is nearly empty again as the travelers have mostly moved on. The later afternoon wanderers will probably begin to straggle in soon. At 255 miles and 4 hours to Wall Drug and free water, this is a perfect stop for those headed west.

Steve, favorite pastime of Park Host on Sunday afternoon, watching 95% of the park empty before 3pm and seeing all the newbies come in shortly after!
Mary and I tend to grade their arrival, back in and set-up!
Two of our grands just left for home, Party On Mary, Party On Tim!

It is fun to watch. Interesting to spend time in the various types of places. This really is a nice little place but about 30 miles either direction for any sort of supplies other than ice.
Edit - have ya had Olympic style score cards printed?

No score cards but I have saved a few marriages! Just helped a man with a satalite dish. Saw the wife out turning it , not back and forth, but 360* and getting nowhere!
Looking for a rope and cowhead with horns for a roping game! I'll keep looking, might have to rope a deer head!
How bout it, all you Bryce bound mutants, got any EASY games to add to the campfire fun?

A few of the little touches the owners have placed around the park.

I still have 2 bags of water balloons we didn't use at the Hail of a Curiosity.
Speaking of water. Looks like we may get a little thunderstorm. May not. Picnic table pics...
