Thanks for the kudos. Dinner was indeed delicious & we had a crab chef salad for lunch. Yummy! Can't wait to see you again. Why will it take your dr so long to get authorization? Guess you'll have to manage without us as Donny leaves at dark thirty in the am. I leave Wednesday at a normal time. Hope you two till be ok. Lol. See you in Bryce! Xoxo

As to tactics, may I suggest two of the basics:
Cover and concealment
Surprise

Also methods of battle are important:
Withering suppressive fire
Overlapping fields of fire
Employ raids and ambushes
Occupy the high ground

As my old pal once said, “Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.” –Sun Tzu

Geesh, I miss that old fart.
You can always get some ideas from old episodes of The Lone Ranger.

You are absolutely right. I told Kate what you said. She looked me right in the eye and said, "Yep. We're taking the Zen approach to all this ... aren't we?"

LOL. Dave, we can only hope you're right. Time will tell. The fixes thus far are totaling up to around $7,300. My gawd, I went into the wrong business! First shop we took her to for previous fixes charged $175 an hour to work on motorhomes. Not sure what the Cummins shop in Amarillo is charging per hour, but surely it's not more than that.

I'm beginning to wonder if we need to w**k one more year in order to save up even more $$. I thought socking ten grand away for repairs and maintenance for next year would be enough. HA! Looks like we'll need to at least double that amount for the repair piggy bank. There is so much I simply can't do in the way of repairs and fixes.

But, as Kate encourages the Zen approach, we'll do whatever we need to do. None of Bow's illnesses are going to derail us. Bow can be fixed and is being fixed. We're on target.

LOL. We sure hope she doesn't, either! We know there will always be stuff to fix and repair with a motorhome. That's a given. We just hope these repairs and fixes last a while. Sigh.

But I must say I'm glad I had it all done. The following year was a new toilet and a cooling unit for the fridge, and the repair of our inverter, the next year sealing some cracks and repairing the skylite in the shower. With all that said, there will always be something that needs to be fixed. Do as much as you can yourself and check iRV2 for possible solutions.
Life on the Rainbow is fantastic.

Cheers !!!!
Thanks, Jeff. It somehow helps a little to know that others go through this same thing. You could buy a Jaguar with what you spend on repairs over the course of a coach's life! But then, as you say, "Life on the Rainbow is fantastic!" We're counting on it.

This is a far cry from the shade tree mechanic days that I fondly remember. My only expendable fee would have been for a bar of Lava soap, and a torn T-shirt.
LOL! Well, it is hard to swallow those kind of mega repair bills. But then, I can't do any of it myself, so I've gotta trust the guys in the shop. If they gouge us, they gouge us. But there is probably very little I could do about that. On the other hand, just maybe they're on the up-and-up and are giving us an honest analysis and fair price. I'll never know. But,, as Steve said, we're "investing in our future!" In the end, all we want is to take off in our moho and see as much of the country as we can.

Just a ponder on the repairs Mel....Did they check to make sure the RACOR fuel filter has been changed. Many Fuel Injection pumps have been replaced when the real culprit was the plugged RACOR filter.

Here's the thread where I posted the quoted message below: Should I be expected to pay for a mechanic’s mistake?
