Keep the ohms coming....
What is potassium and why is it important to you?
Potassium is a mineral found in many of the foods you eat. It plays a role in keeping your heartbeat regular and your muscles working right. It is the job of healthy kidneys to keep the right amount of potassium in your body, as they filter your blood. If your potassium becomes too high, it can cause an irregular heartbeat or a heart attack.
What is a safe level of potassium in my blood?
If it is 3.5-5.0
You are in the SAFE zone
If it is 5.1-6.0
You are in the CAUTION zone
If it is higher than 6.0
..You are in the DANGER zone

Di you had to have Organic Chemistry for a home Ec degree?
Passing organic is half way to med school! Organic changed the career of many a pre-med student! I was a gluten for punishment, I took it in the summer sessions, lived and breathed organic that summer. Thankfully my student loan officer was sleeping with me and I could devote all my time to it!

Larry has been type 1 diabetic for 10 years as a result of pancreatitis, he now has developed Kidney Disease, stage 3, on Monday his potassium level was in the danger zone... Put him on a special med within 3 hours to leech most of it out of his body. Another blood test today, waiting on results. But no phone call from the Dr yet, so hopefully it worked. With his heart condition he doesnt need this...... kidney specialist on Monday, ultrasound next week.
So ohms please.... That Larry will get past this hurdle and be ready to travel again soon....

Yep.... We did..... Amazing huh?
And yes, you are right... Many who flunked it, changed their major.....
Not at all what people think..... HOME ec wasnt just cooking and sewing......
Microbiology was fun, made beer, Organic Chemistry was boring, but Economics was yuk....
Actually had enough hours in science and social studies that could teach it in Jr High, which I did.....
After i was a therapeutic Dietitician at Jefferson Hosp... In Pine Bluff...

Econometrics was the breaking point for many a budding economist. Not to be confused with kitchen economics...
