Wonderful!!! Hope you got tickets to see the show at the amphitheater. It's a lot of fun. Great special effects! Very much worth the ticket price.

Barb and I scoped out the park for a potential GC there one day. There is a very nice building that you can rent for groups, but it's not in a camping loop. Just off by itself. Still, it's nice.

We will probably be picking up Bow at the Cummins shop in Amarillo tomorrow afternoon. If I can get a spot at PD for Friday night, we'll see you on Saturday! May be impossible to get a site, though, as they fill up very quickly in the summer and the park stays pretty booked. We'll let you know either way.

Ohmmmms for you two to have a safe trip and enjoyable time at PD. You're tough enough to take the hike to the Lighthouse. It's a landmark formation in PD that you can't see from the road. Beautiful! But, you've gotta hike to it. With summer temps, the rangers say it's best to go early in the morning and take one gallon of water per person.

Mel, having trouble understanding your phrase " gotta hike to it" and "go early in the morning" , we haven't made any reservations as we're not sure what time we'll get away from here! Plan on calling from the road either in park or the Rv park outside the canyon. If we don't get in we'll skip and catch it on the trip back home.

Meet our new toad, "Arrow." She's a 2,500 lb Honda Fit and a very cool little vehicle. Bow won't even know she's back there! 27 mpg in town and 33-34 on the highway. Not bad!

Next order of business: purchase base plate, tow bar and brake buddy. Also, rear light kit (I think). Gotta read up on that a bit more. Our RV tech, Jeff, can take care of installation. We are jazzed!!!

I was talking about the formation called "The Lighthouse" in Palo Duro. You can't see it from the road. You've got to hike to it to see it. But it's a great thing to see. In the summer, you should do that hike in the morning. Temps can climb past 100 in the afternoon.

If I can get a spot Friday night, I'll book it for Saturday and Sunday nights too, if possible, and then you and Mary can take Sat & Sun nights. We'll have to get home on Saturday evening. Kate preaches Sunday mornings ... still. I hope she's planning on retiring soon. We've got places to go and things to see.

We will likely be passing through your state sometime next summer. I have a first cousin in St. Paul who wants us to spend a few days with them, so we'll probably be in SP 3 or 4 days. Any chance y'all are in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area?

Not sure where I messed up and gave you the impression that we "hike" or "got up early".

I'll call on a site. Have a friend in hospice that could delAy our departure. Thanks anyway.

Mel, I just bought a wireless brake light system that plugs into your MH trailer wiring plug and the tail lights that go on the car have magnet mounts and they duplicate whatever your motorhome lights do. No need to rewire the toad. Very similar to these and only $1.29.95 Canadian or with the current exchange rate about $16.95 American.http://reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/...ws/reviews.htm
