Take off for Bryce Canyon tomorrow bright and early.

But before we were able to leave the launch pad, flat tire on the inside right rear. Called Coach-Net and they walked me through it. Young man who finally showed up (he's done 28 tires today with 3 more after he left us at 7:30) did an excellent job. My tire and my share of service was $445 of the $695 bill.

Tire was a "blow out". Slow leak, overheat coming from the repair shop, and bam. Never felt it. Never knew it until I hit each tire with a hammer - - twap, twap, twap, twap, twap, thud. . . . . . . . 110 psi in all except the one with the baseball sized hole in it.

BTW - - repair shop said that a LOW tire (inside right rear) was filled with air. HMMMMMM Was it blown at the shop? But how could they fill it to 110? HMMMMMM

I will be watching tires better from now on.

AFTER we get his ICD battery replaced..... (Internal Cardiac Defibrilator), It was at 98% gone in January....
Watch and listen they said... Another test transmission was supposed to be past Sunday... No results, so after trying to manually transmit, the dang machine is not working, so in a week, he can go get a new one.... And a reading... In the meantime, well.... It is just STOOPID, dont like this part of medicare,.......

We want to stay within a day drive of his heart doctor... So we dont get put on some wait list.... Which is why we are limiting our travel....

But thanks....

We are taking off for Bryce on Sunday morning. Busy restocking food, clothes, etc.... We have a 12x12 canopy that we will bring. It might come in handy. We have the sample geocaches thrown in too. We will spend a few nights getting there as we are going to work on a challenge geocache in northern/middle Utah before heading on down. Should be there on the 13th. Looking forward for some fun!

What a beautiful day here in SLC it started out to be! Sun shining, mountains are beautiful, and we are out for adventures. This afternoon we ate dinner in a fantastic Mexican Restaurant downtown called Frido Bistro. It was not your typical enchilada and re fried beans kind of place. This place is much more gormet kinda Mexican food and it is pricy. Two dinners and four excellent margaritas later the bill was $86 but well worth the price. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Whoda thunk in SLC?

When we came out, the skies were that erie dark green kinda sky and the clouds were churning like crazy. The wind started blowing at least 40+ mph. We no sooner got on the freeway headed to the coach and the bottom fell out! I couldn't see five feet in front of us and the wind was gusting so hard the car was actually rocking! I left the awning out so you can imagine what I was worrying about. I just knew it was bent like a pretzel. All the way back ( about 20 minutes) the rain and the wind never let up. When we got there the awning was bouncing and twisting in the wind and very hard rain. The multi colored awning lights were all on the ground and broken, chairs in the street, doormat way down the street. Don't ask me how, but I got that sucker rolled up with no rips or tears that I could see and the frame was still in tact. We were soaked and the temp dropped to 59 so Barb comes in and turns on the heat!

Thanks Lord we dodged a bullet! What an adventure!!!!

Good news on the kidneys. Also I think I read that a new ICD is in the week, and that is good. He'll be chasing you around the coffee table again.

Papaw Steve, not knowing how much (or long) you may have been riding on the outside dual, be careful. It could have been over loaded and damaged. Just looking at it on the outside will not show anything and to get it properly inspected (think xray) is costly. I had the same thing happen to an inside dual and just decided to replace both when the inner failed. Gave me peace of mind and I never did have a problem. Before this trip I had all six replaced. $Ouch$!

Hebbie... dodged a bullet for sure! I have never tested the wind sensor on our awning. I think it worked once - but couldn't be sure it was out to begin with... I'd like to think it would or did work....

The restaurant sounds great...
I think I might have had to try this...

Pato Afrutado $29

Duck Breast Stuffed w/ Figs, Apricots, Cherries, and
Almonds - Orange-Chipotle Reduction Saffron Rice - Tri-Colored Baby Carrots - Kale

It looks to be a great place!

Always rolled up the awning when we left for extended time an hour or more, you just don't know when Mother Nature wants to show who's boss.
