I envy you and Martin's fun and thanks for letting me know how much you enjoyed it.

Today we went for Sunday lunch at our local ... pub, that is. The Fleece Inn at Hillesley, a scant 2 miles up hill and down dale. No pics of food ... snarfed too fast ... but here's the place:
A free house means this pub can serve beers and ales from any company. Otherwise they would be tied to just one.
Here is one satisfied near-mutant: He had a local brew, a Nibley, with his roast pork dinner. We are very near to North Nibley where it was brewed. Me, I had a very nice cider (always hard cider in this country) with my beetroot tarte tatin. (Not misspelt, just foreign!) it was a very thin pastry base with glazed beet and onion slices on it. Kind of an open faced pie.
One more detail of the pub front:
Tonight we're to meet old friends and their now-grown boys and the one spouse at The Bell Inn in Lacock near where we were neighbors. I hope there's time for a walk, because Lacock is a pretty town, complete with flower gardens, a medieval tithe barn and old church. Imagine paying your taxes in oats and turnips and wool instead of cash. You'd take it all to that barn...and probably go to church to pray for good harvest and a mild winter!
No pics yet, so it hasn't happened. 😘 Y'all be safe on your various roads, some converging now onto an unsuspecting Bryce. It'll never be the same. Does that canyon echo? Bet it will!

Dogs, children and even monkeys benefit from the experience of going into public places. Public civility can only be learned with frequent forays into those place where parents can say, "If you don't behave we'll have to go to the ladies room and 'talk' about how you are supposed to behave here."
For my human daughter it only took only one trip to the ladies room for an attitude adjustment and an occasional stern look. Sena, being more stubborn required a few more. It's wonderful that the UK allows opportunities to learn those important lessons. All lives are enriched by inclusion.
Travel safe Sue and Martin! Thanks for taking us along with your pictures and stories.

I agree, I think that's why Mac is good with crowds, I bring him out to them as much as possible to keep him comfortable around lots of people. Even though he'll rip their fingers off if they try to touch him, but that's a trait I'll never rid him of…

That's a protective reflex, I suspect. As with Sena and me, it's up to you to shield Mac from stupid humans. Meeting Mac was great fun!

I heard something helpful and funny yesterday. We all speak of broad time events such as the 60’s, 70's, etc. but I never knew of such a shortcut for the first decade of the century.
But now I know I can refer to it as the 00's which is pronounced nauties or is that naughties? Hmmm, maybe they knew what I was doing back then? <sigh> Don't I wish that was true.

Fantastic reference, I thought about that years ago, but I couldnt get it to catch on.
People thought I was saying that as a "License to be NAUGHTY".. Imagine...
We know that we dont need any license...
