BTW - never seen so many sheep. The dog, the man, and the horse were a great team. Possibly mutants.

Zions is Shuttle Bus only now - and you have to get on and off to see / hike the sites. Treat of rain is sending us on a day trip with CR-V Mutant. Wouldn't be too much of a problem otherwise - but the complete trip - is 80 minutes - if you don't get off and see the sites... much longer if you do. With rain possible it doesn't feel right for today.
Was rainy on the North Rim for several hours with temps in the 50s never getting out of the 60s all day. Site seeing in rain gear felt good even if it wasn't raining! Even the $3.25 coffee at the lodge was good!

Dave, talked to a couple that said they came across the closed section on 89A today. Open but only one lane so they had a 45min or longer wait.

One thing I learned from living in Oklahoma for 22 years -- there are only 2 ways to have a windy day on flat ground 1) warm daytime temperatures and sunshine or 2) twisters.

Be thankful that you are encountering the first.

Barb - did you mention a possible Mini in AZ this winter? Are you going to Florida, or thinking of staying in AZ?

I haven't looked at Az much yet - but have a few friends and family there. We will stay somewhere near Peoria, AZ to visit my cousin. We have good friends in Phoenix proper, and our friends from the RGV/Amana will be work camping in Apache Junction.

We do want to spend time in Yuma and Tucson as well. And Papaw Steve will be in a park for 3 months somewhere... I forget.

Anyway - Az sounds promising for a mini or midi...

We are here. Waiting to get Honey back with her cab air functioning. Making lists, checking them twice.... took a break today to party a little. Went to see Mr. Holmes and have dinner. Celebrating 36 years of marriage to each other. It's not always been bliss, but we have worked through the worst of the bumps, I think....I'm just grateful for a man with patience and sticktoitness!

Oh, and Bob thinks I'm being mean if I don't bring Bess dog... but to be truthful, I am a little worried about rattle snakes... I have not snake proofed her (behavioral training).

I thought it was 45 lol...

We can't wait to see you two again! And I really want to see Bob fly!

So is there another employed member in the family, or will Bess stay home?

We got to North Ogden Monday night but not without some adventures. We will be here until the trek to Bryce on the 13th, spending our time geocaching. Today we made it to over 9,000 ft elevation. A little huffing and puffing. We got drenched in WY and our side trip today.
