Although hot here in Napa Valley (and cooling nice when we LEAVE!), we have had a great time!
The grand villas, whineries, and mansions are all very nice, but we prefer this:

Mel, Ellie is doing very well. She is fun, challenging and entertaining, sometimes all at once. She's smart - she knows down, sit, off and look at me. She walks on a loose lead and loves to play. She sleeps from 10pm to 5:30am, piddles outside and goes back to sleep until the alarm at 6:45. House training is a work in progress - she's good about 75% of the time. She starts puppy kindergarten in October. When she's being "bad" we call her Stitch or 626.
She has spent two weekends on the road with us, and we leave for three weeks at the beach on Thursday. I've fallen in love with her!

Oh geeze, Ellie is soooooo cute! Just adorable! And who wouldn't fall in love with that face? Looks, smarts, personality ... She is definitely a winner!
After recovery from my 2nd knee surgery (around first of the year, we are going to start puppy shopping. Now we will likely rescue a pup, but there are plenty of good dogs in need of homes. Can't stand the thought of a dog being euthanized just because it is unwanted. Kate and I will make a difference for at least one dog!

Tried to trouble shoot the wiper fluid sprayer issue..when they rebuild the steering column they must have nicked the wire...no idea when. I can't get to the motor without pulling the entire tank.

Man oh man! What a blast y'all are gonna have! Makes me miss my bike so much. 😩 Sold it last year due to these crap knees of mine. But with new knees, who knows ...... 😎

Forgot to post this a couple of weeks ago. Was driving south on I-27 from Amarillo and watched an impressive thunderstorm roll through. At end of it, I caught this Mutant symbol. Shot it with the fruit phone right through my window while driving 75mph. If you blow the pic up, you can make out the large electrical big line towers on the ground below the 'bow and also the trees surrounding a farmhouse. It was one giant-arsed rainbow! Couldn't even get the whole thing in a pic.

We have got to get to your side of the rainbow. Next year seems so far away - but I know it'll be here before I know it.
Are ya still baking and schooling and all those many things you do?

Les may have posted a better bear picture of the Grizzly wanting to sing about the guy he ate but this cool dude was out for a stroll on Argyle Street about a block from our City hall.

What a nice thing to think about while you recover! Mary got her knee replaced seven years ago, and her quality of life skyrocketed. Her mobility issues really limited our traveling, but now she walks five miles a day.
We have three rescue pups, including a beautiful Dalmatian breeder reject. I've wanted a Boston for many years, and we figure this is our last puppy. We're trying to savor every tongue washing, wiggle and puppy breath. It passes so quickly.

Thank you for the sun screen reminder. Mary got a bad sunburn last year. We got a stroller and battery operated fan for Miss Ellie to keep her cool and out of the sun.
Please do make it out here - Virginia would be a great place for a curiosity!
Yes, still baking and schooling. Almost finished with the schooling. Dissertation and defense, then cap and gown. I'm too old for this!
