Hopefully the PTJeeps parts arrive today! Will be good to reunite with them for some site seeing, great eats and mutant shenigans!

Not much to say - other than been looking at the map and beginning to figure our way to Vegas - then on to Az for the winter. We made a new friend here and will be stopping off to see them in Wickenburg before moving on to Peoria Az to see my cousin. Then on to Apache Junction to visit with our work camper friends we me in the RGV and visited with in Amana Colonies. A bonus round there as Papaw Steve and Mary Ann will be hanging their hats there too.

So official notice... 10/17 will be my 1 year retorement anniversary! Just around the bend. So hard to believe. One year off full timing is close behind! It has been awesome! Anyone thinking of giving it a go - I'm proof anybody can do it!
Congrats, Steve. You know you and Annie are our roll models.

You're so sage, Barb.

Oh man, is THAT web site helpful. Thanks for sharing, Tim. When we get ready to buy a couple of new tires in February, we will have done our research and maybe I can talk half way intelligently with the tire salesman. So glad you posted that link.

Tim and Don Thanx

I have copied, pasted, and printed a copy of all that you have posted concerning the "actual dope" on tires. I am shocked that a manager of a truck tire store with 8 satellite locations would not know this.

If he really knows what is printed, why spin such a bunch of huey? Is $445 enough to be so blatantly dishonest?

Tire Size Calculator

I see I screwed up my formula in my spreadsheet.

TIRE------RADIUS-----CIRCUMFERENCE-----REVOLUTIONS/MILE
255/70-----17.2------------54.04-----------------586.28
255/80-----17.9------------56.23-----------------563.35

The numbers are a little different than the web site but I think that is because I used the loaded radius (should have doubled that) from Michelin's information while the web site doesn't seem to account for that factor but it is plenty close enough.

iRV2 has to be checking their equipment to see if everything is working properly. No posts on "R U a Mutant Too" since last night before 10:00 p.m. Something has to be wrong.

Continued healing ohms to those that need them. I too am concerned about Moonrover.

Travel safe.

If you had not mentioned it I would have never known. I have had the web site I posted for a long time since Michelin XRV's are not readily available. I had to do tire comparisons.

Besides the height of a replacement tire, width is also a concern. To wide of a tire may cause some sidewall rubbing.

When are you coming to our area?

I have to tell you this little story about Miya.

Yesterday we decided to top off the propane. As a preparation for departure Earlene has to take Miya outside while I bring in the slides and raise the jacks. Miya can tollerate the ding, ding, ding, but is disturbed by it, so it is outside she goes. While they are outside the lights are checked on the RV and TOAD. As Earlene is standing in the front she indicates that she will walk, with Miya, over to the propane area.

She starts walking on the other side of the road as I start to maneuver out of the site. When Miya saw the coach moving she sat down on her haunches, not a normal sit down, but a butt dragging sit down and would not move until the RV door was adjacent to her and Earlene let her in. No way was she letting me leave without her.

Now, how do I train her to close the door while Earlene is still outside?

Oops! I might be in trouble now.

Good morning Mutants.... just sitting here reveling in my favorite morning activity... drinking my coffee and reading up on what's happening in your part of the rainbow.
I am getting a little bit of a critter care reprieve today...only 1 set of 2 kittens to go check on, feed, scoop for, then tomorrow a steady increase of critter cares culminating at 8 visits on next week Thursday then tapering down to 1 visit on the 18th... sure is fun getting to see all these critters, they are always happy to see someone because they are lonely and miss their people. (and it is fun to know I am making money everyday...while I am feeding my heart and having fun)
