The Lowell Observatory was a fascinating place, and grandly educational.
The tour guides provided much new information and filled in some gaps from good ol' CRS!

How neat is that! I went to the Wiki and read up on what they have there, including the 5th largest telescope in the US. That one was originally sponsored by Discovery but wound up sharing the cost with a number of colleges to the tune of $53M, nice!!! Must have been impressive seeing all that.

The new 14.4 foot telescope is 30 miles from Flagstaff due to city lights. But still a Lowell project, and a win for America.
And it was here in Flagstaff that Pluto was discovered, simply because Lowell saw a timing difference in the annual solar trip by Neptune.

Thanks Dave. My doctors appointment in Vegas is Nov 5th. I'm thinking of rescheduling to the 18th so we can be at a certain Birthday Party in town on Nov 20th. Waiting to get down to St. George before I decide and or call it in.

We will then move to Bullhead City for a few days to a week. Then Wickenburg, Peoria, and Apache Junction... we will make something happen I'm Az... just need to get there first.

This should be fun!
Just make sure you don't stand UNDER the forms, Tim. Actually, I watched such a pour about 12 years ago on my boss's home. They had to use a huge concrete pumper truck to send the mix over the house to the back porch. They used a special lightweight concrete. Very cool stuff.

Tim,

I have some distant relatives who specialize in concrete apparel.
The only problem is theirs always went on the feet.

I am ALWAYS open for a GROUND FLOOR - SOLID Opportunity if there is room for me to get in on the deal...

Sounds like a permanent position that could take care of me for the rest of my life...
