Help! I was adding water to my Moho's chassis battery this afternoon and one of the battery's water caps fell down beside it into an unreachable space under the hood. Is it ok to drive my class C a short distance to an auto parts store? Do they sell replacement caps or should I buy 2 corks to stick into the holes? My battery is probably 5 years old and needs replacing soon. I'd like to get out of Seattle tomorrow before having to run a bunch of errands.

Find and straighten a wire clothes hanger and then secure some tape around it 'sticky side out' and keep at it until you have a 5/8 or so ball of sticky and then fish it out from the hiding place that way.

I hope you can see the plug or this whole suggestion is moot.

Ack, that might work! I was going to suggest turning the MH upside down and shake!

Our try a vacuum cleaner to possibly suck it out. If hose too big reduce it to a small piece of pvc with duct tape. As far as driving with cap off I think I would cover opening with tape, not a cork! The water will form a gas during charging and it will need to escape.

I almost got the cap out with my reacher but it slipped down even further. I'll try your tape method, Dennis. If that fails I'll put Gorilla tape over the holes. I'm planning to only drive 150 miles tomorrow to Yakima so I can get there early to run those errands I don't want to do in Seattle.

Barb, a junkyard should have lots of battery caps. Maybe pick up a spare

Hi everybody... Annie Calle me over to the slot machine she was playing... it was a penny machine... still a good win. And now for something completely different... I have to say... the Hamachi sashimi is excellent. And the scallop... oh yeah! And the salmon ski handroll has bonus salmon! Jackpot!

Barb... I'm sure by now you have resolved you battery cap issue - but next time just tell Sena... no. Do not get under there and get that cap. Problem solved!

He beat me to it.

Or, try NTB or any other tire/battery store. Don't rule out Sears or Walmart. They replace batteries and send the old cores in. Most likely they will have one hanging around waiting next schedule return.

Dennis, did you grow up in the Ozarks?

Wayne, don't forget that I owe you and Earlene dinner. I'll make you some homemade chicken enchiladas next time we cross paths.

Steve, Pahrump looks and sounds like a great place for an RVer! Don't think we will make it that far west this first year, but there is always next year.

Ok, now a word to all you lurkers, murkers, and newbies who aren't posting ... Jump in! Tell us about yourselves. Ask questions. Post opinions, thoughts, ideas and funnies. Interrupt any of this stream of conscious crap we put out there with something meaningful. Please. Just jump in, hang on and go with the flow.

And if you're hanging around here, that means you probably have the Mutant gene. As the Potentate said (many times), "Just tell us what you don't have and don't miss on your RV, and declare that the journey is the destination!"

And you silent RVMs (some with low numbers and some with higher numbers) jump in here and stay connected to Mutantville!!!
Some of us quieter ones may be a bit shy, but have the same beliefs. In my situation we can't keep up due to other things, which may include that w**k thing. Making the best of it as we go.

We did make it to Sohsone today and on into the Death Valley. As advertised, roads are washed out in various places. There was more open to us to see, but we got a late start. Having a hard time adjusting to dark at 6 p.m. lol.

What she said! Pawpaw Steve, I think a couple of buttons off your shirt landed on our roof. I heard "tink, tink." Or maybe one of those buttons was yours and the other was Dave's. Either way, both you guys have lots to be proud of! Congrats!!!

To learn... ??? Lol. There's 2 or 3 semesters in that one picture alone lol. Not sure where you are but we did see a handful of various rainbow riders pulled off in Death Valley with solar panels raised. There were several areas like that and a RV park in there somewhere too... and a hotel and jeep rental.

Looks like a band will be playing tomorrow at Shoshone, but you seem to have all the bases covered!!
