We were going to try to get the free Vet + 1 at the South Point. No such luck. There were more vets in line than currently enlisted methinks!
So I did learn M-Th noon to 4 pm. 1/2 price oysters and clams on the half she'll. I will go back. $11 for 6 of each. They aren't fancy east or west coast oysters - but the Louisiana oysters were very good!

Bangin good on the clams Bro! Wanna do that one

Raw oysters are pretty common. But the raw clams - not so much. They had linguine with clam sauce, but I was looking for the salt water splash... tasty. Thing is - if I can eat 2 dozen oyster I can eat 3... and clams - well who knows. Easily 3 dozen clams without trying.
I knew you liked sushi Dave - but clams! My brotha!!

Honestly - it was a 2 hour wait in line and the EMS came. Someone probably locked their knees...
We were told at the oyster bar that there are quite a few homeless vets in the area and they really appreciate the free buffet. They sit at their tables for hours. And, she noted, there should be no homeless vets, so we let them.
But I have to say this - there were some very senior vets standing and on scooters waiting for their place at the free buffet. Korea and II were both well represented. Various displays of service and pride among these folks. I looked at the situation and wanted to yell, Hey. Make a Hole. Ya got yer seniors waiting on you.
On edit...
And now I'm thinking. Happy Veteran's Day again...

Another tag filled today. More steaks for the freezer. It was beautiful out. The trees were covered in snow and a white blanket on the meadow. Didn't last long though.
Hope you vets had a great day. There is a group of restaurants in the quad cities close to where we live that are owned by the same corp and they give vets a free meal every month on the 11th. It includes some fast food places and some nice sit down restaurants too.
