I lost a good friend (former brother in law) to PTSD after he got home from Nam. He had severe anxiety and really bad dreams from his time there. We spent a lot of our time together fishing and golfing and he used me to unload because he knew I would not reveal his talking about non-declassified info out of school. Loved that dude like a brother and when I found out he had succumbed to his demons it damn near killed me too. Anyone with the disease who needs a shoulder, please call me and I'll listen.

Rocket attacks, mortar attacks, artillery attacks, ground incursions, you name it, we were in it. The individual mind can be affected in many ways, and sometimes it does not occur until years later. Anything can trigger it. PTSD is not only for the military. The T stands for Traumatic. Figure how many traumas there are in the world and anyone of them can affect an individual mind. Some can cope with it, some need medicine to help especially with the depression that accompanies it. Some have violent reactions, sometimes in their sleep and sometimes when they are awake. Some cannot cope with it and take an avenue of what they believe is escape. When we are together some time, talk to me about it. If you know of someone suffering, encourage them to seek help or talk to someone.

For anyone else that suffers from that disease, seek help. Talk to someone else who has been there and is going through it. It really helps when the person you are speaking with understands what you are going through.

p.s., The WWI, WWII and Korean veterans and doctors were not of the understanding of PTSD. It was Shell Shock or Battle Fatigue. Sometimes they gave the a few days rest, then sent them into battle again. The real violent outbursts were "section 8" out of service with not much of a looking after. The thought of the day that the manifestation would work its way back to normalcy. I feel for those soldiers.
Wayne;
Very well put.

Mary seldom reads this thread but was thrilled when I reported all the positive comments about her quilt. SO, today is her Birthday! If any of you Kamona ladies still have her phone number from the Kamona list and would like to text her good wishes I'm sure she would be greatly surprised. Of course I will relay any comments from the thread myself. Happy Wife Happy Life! Have a great day mutants!

Happy Birthday Mary!
Sure wish you were able to make Tucson. A GC just won't be the same without Tims paper plate costume designs... and Mary's smile.

Get it together son. Bless your heart.

I have heard from Moonrover and he asked for me to say his hello's to the Mutant family for him. He said that he would try and get on the forum and try to read up on all the things that are being said about him.

Without a lot of detail, he is going through some tough times. Keep those prayers and ohhmmss going his way.

Thanks for the update Wayne. I have his number but have opted to not call. The Ommms Generator remains on high capacity for him and all mutants.

Its getting close and I thought that this could be our Christmas present to the Mutant Family from Us. https://www.youtube.com/embed/-cKE8pyfcZc

I love the expressions of joy on everyone's faces and the beautiful rendition of the whole musical theme. and its only coincidental I chose Steve's service band.

Merry Christmas All
