Ok this doesn't happen often but I have a serious question for you mutants, most especially those with major damage to their coaches at the hail of a GC. I had National Interstate Insurance through Good Sams and following the hail damage where they didn't cover complete cost of damage repair they jumped my rate up by over $800 annually. Needles to say I'm shopping for new insurance.

Papa Steve I remember you seemed happy with State Farm but will any others tell me who they use, were you happy in how they handled your claim and did they jump your rates? If you don't want to post here feel free to pm me. Thanks Tim

Lordy what a day. Think I'll just go back to bed!

Omgosh. Think you need to go home and start over again.

Naw. Just another day in the RV park. Seen it before. Will see it again. One poor soul actually ran a spigot down with their golf cart. Maintenance guy came along and stuck a shovel handle in it.

Worst I've done is let the park guy guide me in and ran over the neighbors connection to the sewer. Not the hose. Just the part that screws in. Bought him a new and got the channel locks out and tore the old one apart getting it out. All good! Neighbor wad impressed. He never knew it happened and couldn't believe I R/Rd.

The rainbow is grand but not without its challenges!

Sluice valves were at least shut!

Here's an unrelated/sorta related thought: shouldn't there be a movie or a series called "The Thetford Wives"? Mel, help me out here!

R.I.P. Glenn Frey. Gone at 67 years young and far too soon.

So many Great Eagles songs to remember him by.

Take it easy and have a tequila sunrise Glenn. You will be missed.

Tim,

I also have State Farm but my damage was less than the $2,000 deductible on both vehicles so I didn't file any claims. Smarty has only 1 tiny hail dent (all of the white parts are plastic) and the coach damage was a few plastic covers on top and dents in the hood. I consider those to be ambiance -- they compliment the mess that Sena makes up there. My total bill is less than $85/mo.

Allied. Had a modest increase but based on SD claims. I imagine AR rates were up given all the claims. $66 a month is a little steep, so shop around.

Tim

Sue and I have a combo policy that covers our house, outbuildings and all our toys. It's from Westfield National.

The renewal on July 31 ( i.e. after the grand hail) was as follows

Jeep: 1,328, down from 1,383.

Bella: (1/2 yr) 845, down from 893.

At the time of the hail claim, I made some comment about the rates going up and she said - oh no, that was an act of God, you're not to blame!

Westfield handled the claim very professionally and courteously. The total deductible was 50 for the two vehicles.

I thoroughly recommend them.

Martin (now driving a loaner Cherokee with just 31 miles on the clock)

Tim we had an incident with a pole.....long story and a bit of damage. Our policy that we had didn't raise the rate and I think it was about $7000 in damages. We had Grange at the time. We moved to TX and got a great rate from Farmers and of course we told them about the accident too.

Another day on the rainbow!
Did a little shopping. Annie stayed home but she is feeling better but still not back to her usual self. I am cautioning her to take it easy. She has a tendency to want to overdo things. Can't wait till she's 100%. I miss my adventure gal. She really enjoys seeing the sights. :-( and of course our mutant family in the area... :-(
:-(

Ponder -- What's behind the adult coloring book movement? I've seen 3 TV commercials in the last 2 hours from 3 different companies. Have non-RVers figured out the value of doing things they did as kids? Why coloring books?

I never bought coloring books for my daughter or the kids I had in my in home daycare. I gave them plain paper and let them be creative. I guess I have never been a color inside the lines type.

It's an Ommmm experience for Annie. As Mike used to say, Google is your friend. And if ya want a real shock, price the pencils.

My dad went to "Art School" and was capable of drawing about anything. But, he didn't like being told what to draw or otherwise produce. Quit "Art School". I guess he didn't think getting the "official" foundation was important. Or maybe he just wanted to keep his artistic talents as a leisurely pass time. But for whatever reason, he didn't want to color inside the lines.

I suspect those of us who grew up with coloring books, colored pencils and remember our first box of 64 with sharpener in the back, could easily slip into a place we haven't been in a while.
