Picacho Peak State Park. It was a long, grueling drive from Pima Co. Fairground -- about an hour.

Resident feline Betsy is glued to the screen door watching the very noisy, very nearby desert ground birds. I haven't ID'd them yet.

Decompression is beginning. 😉

Lol.... We are at Fort Huachuca.... 18 miles or so from Tombstone. Already had our nap... Think it is the earliest we have arrived at any destination.. Military, but very very nice, and also quiet... No car races... We too will decompress

Diane toftSFM#64....... (The Original Fast Talking Sliding Finger Mutant) and is retired, duh!

😱😱😱 Might even catch a sunrise!

You're right: this is a terrible place. Poor cat, stuck behind the screen door. The birds will scamper along almost under my chair and mountains and saguaros and palo verde trees surround us. Terrible.

Di, we've had our naps too. 😘 I'm sitting outside working on my gourd for class right now. Margaritas later.

Cheers!

Sorry for all the drudgery and pesky birds. Poor kitty!

We're at S&B with The Discovery tucked away in her barn. Wish we could have meet y'all in Tucson but if you cross AR give us a call!

It was so sad to hear the sounds of your diesel engines roaring to life, idling, and then fading away in the distance. This last week just flew by! It is SO quiet here right now. No laughter, no mutant chatter, no car races-- well those I don't miss. I've heard a lot more planes overhead and I wonder if Jeremy is flying one.

Did anyone get a headcount for this GC? It seemed like a bunch! And just a few short weeks ago it was just going to be some of us who are wintering in Arizona (Papaw Steve and Mary Ann, Dwayne and Shara, Barry and Pat, Dave and Nola, Steve and Annie, Sue and Martin, Dave and Deb, Jeff and Macia and me) then Denise and Dennis gave it international status, and Earlene drug Wayne outta Texas and Don picked up Colleen from the airport and Di and Larry escaped the Ozarks and Deb and Dale Geocached in and Carl decided to drive 3/4 of the continent to join us, and the Dickey family hopped onboard and Colleen and Hunter made a long weekend trip and Curtis and then Vince made an appearance.

So if I haven't forgotten anyone (I didn't get a nap) that's 34 adults, 2 kiddos, 9 dogs, 2 cats, 2 birds, 1 monkey and a whole lotta fun.

I would like to officially give Papaw Steve a standing ovation for finding this great venue and for coordinating with the fine folks at the Pima County Fairgrounds RV park. And I learned today from those folks that Dwayne was instrumental in securing the old restaurant space so we didn't freeze our patooties off earlier in the week. Just another great GC into the record books.

Whew! Now I really need that nap. We'll miss y'all! Let's do this again sooner rather than later. I love you all more than I love my brothers.

We all missed you Tim... my post about memories was a poke that your memories would be of the pictures we posted... not the actual memory.

But if I had an American dollar for every time Possum said how much he wished you had come - I could buy you out of your w**k contract... oh the humanity.

You and Mary were missed son.

Well said Barb. I think you missed Jim and Paula. Colleen and Hunter. Not sure of others but yep! A Grande Curiosity if I've ever seen one.

So we're checked in at Cocopah RV and Golf Resort. Nice place. Already met a few neighbors, been offered pizza and libation.

Gotta get back to living the slow life. The mutants, as usual wore us out with mutantastic fun and laughter.

Later folks!

PS... you mutants who missed it - we're getting the hang of this (LOL) so try to make the next one Maine 8-15-16 (or come with us to the Maritimes 2 weeks before). And who knows... we may have one in the Indiana or Michigan area before hand. Just have to see where folks are / are headed etc.

Bye now!

Thanks Steve, nice post! Mid July we should have new Grand here and settled in, hosting duties completed, new shoes on The Discover and ready to head North or East, or Northeast! Bring on the Lobstah!
