The last couple years we were in Yuma we found it hard to get nice produce. It makes you wonder why when there is so much of it grown there.
A couple years ago a fellow next to us in the park we were in came over with a big bag of broccoli. He said the stopped along side the road where it was being picked and the pickers filled this big bag for them. He didn't say what he gave them. They do not allow you to come into their fields though.
It was the nicest fresh broccoli we have ever had.

Double dog dare.
I haven't been there yet, but having lived in New Mexico I'm familiar with desert "ambiance" and southwest chic. I'm never put off by rustic when it comes to fruit and veggie stands. I just don't want to have to go 1 for every veggie. What I meant was - small and limited offering.

That's just what I've seen the past few outings just kind of cruising around.

To include delicious white radishes......

THE BEST dog park I've ever seen is around the corner from the AZ marketplace. Now what to do with Lily while I shop? Might be able to find a patch of shade and dash right in. Sena I can take inside, Lily? Don't think so. Or I could get our butts up early while temps are still in the 60’s. Oh the humanity! Will we be up and out before 10 am?

In Yuma the best place for produce was Food City and El Herrandas. Better selection and lot better price than the Roadside stands on 95.

Barb when we were in the market place there were puppies on leashes all over the place. Seems to be the norm there.

Hey Dennis' Slickest1" Good to see you posting again... If I didn't know better from past experience on the vintage threads... I'd say you were a man of few words...LOL! HOw ya doing? Honey is still going! Been pondering a way to move my water tank in the back bed /dining corner so we get a little more standing at the kitchen counter room...Problem is the furnace feeds through that seat area too....One of these days, I'd like to meet you and pick your brain on the topic!(let you look at it to see if you have ideas...)

I've never had any steamed eggs, but if I was there I might try them.

With the current luck of this group of mutants I'm a little scared to get The Discovery out of the pre-trip vehicle assembly building (i.e. RV barn)!

But the day of launch is getting closer!

Y'all mutants that are in the Southwest, stay there. We have another six inches of the nasty flaky white stuff with a nice 1/2" crust of the nasty sleety stuff.

On the up side, I made a nice pot of chickenish corn chowder and crusty multigrain bread for dinner. The grands ate two bowls each! Ellie snarfed carrots...Click image for larger version
