So sorry to hear of Stephanies loss. My condolences go out to Bob and family and those who were personally touched by Stephanies life, including many mutants.

Sorry to read of Teffy's passing, I enjoyed meeting her and Bob at our first GC, what a wonderful Lady she was, we will miss her, thank you Jeanie for letting us know. Marcia and I lost our Brother in Law on the 19th at the age of 68. It seems its been a rough month so far this year. Peace be with Bob and Teffie's family.

Good to know there are 2 more generations of RVMs learning the way to enjoy life properly. At what age is it appropriate to tell them about the RVM ancient scrolls?

Jeanie - Thanks for letting us know of Teffy's passing. Brought a tear to my eye as I read your words to Annie, which brought tears to her eyes as well.
-----
Bob - if you read this - our hearts and prayers go out to you. Stephanie was a wonderful lady and you, a lucky man to have found her (which I'm sure you told me so yourself.)
--------
Mutants - Bob and Stephane are on the front row - far right. Two very fine people and A#1 Mutants.

I’ve been trying all morning to write these words: Stephanie died last Saturday. I don’t know how people do eulogies. My throat closes up just from missing her. But I want to tell you a little about her and how much she meant to me.
On a late autumn evening in 1971 my husband and I rode our old Royal Enfield motorcycle 90 miles from Houston to Groves, Texas, population 18,067. Groves was a thriving little town back in '71. Our destination was the home of Bob and Stephanie Stephens. Our purpose was to check out a litter of rare Belgian Tervuren puppies (Tervs). I came home with a puppy tucked in my leather jacket and a new friend tucked in my heart. My life was changed and Stephanie was the pivotal point.
Bob and Stephanie were officers in the Beaumont Kennel Club. They bred and showed Tervs and Basset Hounds and we traveled the dog show circuits together. Back then the star of their family was a mutt aptly named, “Trouble." Stephanie gave Trouble a great deal of freedom and, in return, little Trouble kept the larger Tervs in line.
A few years into our friendship Bob and Stephanie adopted their sons, brothers Nick, 8 and Alex, 6. Stephanie owned and operated Teffy’s, a hobby shop in Groves. They also owned a sports adventure shop called “Great Outdoors” and we spent many exciting weekends camping and canoeing the upper Guadalupe River. Eventually the Great Outdoors evolved into the tour bus business and they traveled all over the U.S. and Canada with groups of adventuresome folks. Stephanie planned and promoted the adventures and occasionally would drive one of the buses.
Stephanie had her first stroke nearly 14 years ago. She lost the use of her right arm and leg, but she worked hard and after many months was able to stand and walk on her own. Bob sold the buses so he could be with Stephanie. They bought a motor home and have spent the past few years traveling around the country meeting new people.
Stephanie was always soft-spoken. She was never crass or hateful. She was, however, quite cunning about getting her way and making Bob happy about letting her have it. She would give advice if you asked, never judgmental, and always gently and with compassion. And, she was fearless. She would try anything. I close my eyes and I see her taking the Guadalupe River rapids, paddle expertly gliding through the water, guiding the canoe around the boulders. I see her standing in Teffy’s, tactfully suggesting a different hobby technique to a customer. I see her drilling her dog on his exercises before entering the obedience ring. I hear her explaining her views on children learning to make their own choices and getting to enjoy the consequences. I see us in the pool at the YMCA as I tread water and complain, and she gives me wise council with a tinge of “Teffy humor," just enough so that I don’t take myself too seriously. I miss her soft laughter and those blue, blue eyes that twinkle still.

Jne.....
Thank you for letting us know, Stephanie was indeed a great lady.
Bob,
There are no words that can even begin to express how you are feeling and how much you will miss your bride.... Our hearts are breaking with you....
Ohms for all..... One more bright star in the sky....

R U an RV Mutant too?
Everyone has has already said about all of the words I was thinking about Teffy after I read your wonderful post, Jne.
I am honored to have met your dear wife, Bob, and to have had fine times and conversations with both of you.
I am proud that you joined us on the Rainbow here in RVMdom.
Our prayers are always with you.

We are in the Fairgrounds park, Prescott Valley. Nissa, RVM61, lives here.
Nissa has never been to a GC, and has only met us and Davedeb1, but will be able show up at DHSP on Wednesday 4/6. I'm using the opportunity to have our GC Opening Ceremony that day. Hope y'all's understand.
