Wayne and Earlene -- remember to add the week of Aug 17, 2017 to your travel plans. We'll GC on the Oregon coast to watch RVMoon go into full eclipse. I hope to book an RV park in May 2016 as I head north to Seattle.

The has slowed and the sky is clear in Quartzite. Had a little bacon for breakfast. We'll be on our way to Phoenix tomorrow and on to Cottonwood on the 4th!

Can't wait to see everyone there. Going to be a grand time of meeting some mutants first time - and reacquainting with others. The rainbow abides.

Prayers said for Stephanie on her passing.

Bob - Sympathy, empathy and prayers for you and your family at this difficult time. Life goes on and with time that empty hole in your being will continue to fill with memories of all the good things and times you and Stephanie enjoyed together.

Thank you Jne for your eulogy. I had not had the pleasure to meet her, but after reading your heartfelt words I have a feeling of knowing her.

Somehow it seems I neglected to welcome Shovelhead86 with the highly coveted RVM number...

So let's welcome RVM132 to the RVMdom! Welcome John!

Eeek!! I am equally negligent. #132 had iRV2 issues so I communicated via PM last week and welcomed him to RVMdom.

Via PM from Mel:
We have been so busy and are so exhausted that we really haven't planned anything. I have my waffle iron and do plan on making several dozen waffles for a group breakfast. I hope someone else has a waffle iron, too! Just need some others to make either waffles and pancakes and sausage and bacon. I'll donate 2 or 3 lbs of good bacon if someone will cook it!

We would love for you and Steve to MC any group activities. You're the experts. Kate and I do have a few words to share with the group sometime while we're all at DHRSP. And I will have my guitar, so we can do a song-along some evening around a campfire - if they allow campfires!

We emptied the wine rack and want to share that bounty with the group some evening, if the state park allows it. I know some don't, unless you're in your RV.

We are so excited to see everyone and do a lot of visiting and getting to know folks. Y'all are a terrific group of folks and we are proud to call you friends!

See you soon,

Mel

PS: Kate says "Hi!"

Lol... busy and exhausted... going full time isn't for the weak...

I talked to Possum today. He has done a parcel of recon in the area and has ideas for fun!

A Curiosity takes care of itself!

Possum, Pogo and I toured the Arizona Copper Art Museum in Clarkdale today and had a great time. I wrote a review for Tripadvisor.com that says it all.

This is not a stuffy, "Don't touch, speak only in whispers" art museum. It is a celebration of what copper, which was once mined in the area, has done to benefit humankind since it was first discovered about 11,000 years ago. On display are objects made of copper along with the history of copper thru the ages.

Housed in the old Clarkdale High School building, the art is divided into 7 rooms, each with displays showcasing the different ways copper has been used. The most compelling is the Military Art room. There you'll find a large display of Trench Art from WWI and WWII along with military items thru the ages. Large artillery mortar shells made from brass, which is a mixture of copper and tin, have been transformed from an object of destruction into a thing of beauty by battlefield local artisans. There is even a copper coated, very well worn combat boot done using the same technique used to make keepsakes of baby's first shoes so popular during the last century.

We wandered through the rooms at our leisure following the path of copper shoe prints on the floor. Knowledgeable museum staff frequently popped in to ask if we had any questions. And we had plenty. Most items on display are accompanied by a sign with the name, era and purpose, but for many we wanted to know the why and how. And they knew the answers!

We spent almost 3 hours there and enjoyed every minute.

R U an RV Mutant too?

We toured it last year, Barb, and we MUST go again! Too much to absorb with just one visit.
