Oops, you are correct, sir! And since it is a solar eclipse we will all need special equipment in order to view it unless you want serious eye damage. Here's a website that tells about ways to safely watch RVMoon blot out Mr Sol.

Steve always piles it high and deep.

So today the Toad went to the service center. Sliding roof rubber-thing-a-ma-jiggy got ripped by the inside sliding cover. So glad I got a good warranty program bumper to bumper. Also glad it didn't happen on the road.

So above you mentioned August 17th, would that be the start of the GC? Obviously the gathering should start prior to the eclipse while some of us still have eyesight left

It would work well for me if it did start during the previous week like that. My initial planning says I can probably get across the country by Wednesday if I leave say the Friday before...but that's just early guessing.

I'm actually eating mine now. I have a delicious salad, just finished off some great beans, cheesy potatoes, Marinated cucumber and onion, sliced tomatoes and 3 meat plate.

Once I see what sort of deals I can make with campgrounds I will present the info for approval by the group. Personally I like to arrive and leave mid-week rather than weekends, but I'm not sure yet what will give us the best options.

I'd suggest you folks that still slave for a paycheck start now lobbying for generous time off in August 2017. Especially Carl -- making those mad dashes across the country is insane!

Well, I'm trying to ensure I have enough time each direction to not be too rushed. I'm currently planning 5 days minimum each way which gets it down to roughly 600 miles a day, easy peasy for me My travels to Tucson were a bit more aggressive.

I think that's a good day too. It may lend its way to a grand gathering along the way. A caravan of Mutants? OMG
