Tomorrow we leave Cottonwood and head north. Eventually a tour of Oregon coast RV parks is on our itinerary.

Remember this will be a chance to watch RVMoon fully block out the sun. Such power!! I can only remember one time in the last 60+ years that I was in the right place to watch such an event -- 37 years ago.

For those of you that can't make it to Oregon here's an eclipse map. If you click on a spot it will show you what time the eclipse
begins and ends there.

NASA - Total Solar Eclipse of 2017 Aug 21

You're correct in that I'm trying to optimize the time I can take off. Otherwise, there are no other plans. I'll stop whenever, eat wherever, etc. I'm really not a very organized person

As you search, I hope you can find a place around Lincoln City as I believe that's an optimal point for maximum darkness.

We'll be within a short walk or drive to an optimum viewing area. Between the trees and cliffs we may not be able to see well from the RV sites. I'll check that out when there also.

The eclipse begins about 4pm and lasts about 2.5 hours, but the total eclipse is at 5:16 and lasts 2 minutes.

There is a lot to and do out there.

I'm so far behind I'm embarrassed, and I know I've missed birthdays and requests for ommmms. Please know I hold all y'all strange folk in my heart and wish you and your families only the best.

Quick update on the road from RVM 36 and 36.5: we've gone through Payson, AZ, having pedaled and braked our way through the Mazatzal Mountains. More to come as we carry on toward Holbrook and the Petrified Forest at I-40. We're up to where pine trees have appeared and the saguaro are well-behind us.

Pics follow, so it's really happened. What beautiful country up here!

HELL0 ALL,
We made it to Las Vegas by 3:30 on Tuesday. Checked in at KOA at Sams Town.
It's in the low 80"s here.

Shara, many, many ooms for mom, and prayers for you and your mom.

Safe travels all.

Barb are you sure of those times, this is what the link Carl posted said
1. First contact is in Oregon. If you want to be the first person to experience totality in the continental U.S., be on the waterfront at Government Point, Oregon, at 10:15:56.5 a.m. PDT. There, the total phase lasts 1 minute, 58.5 seconds.

Had a great dinner at Storytellers in the Cliff Castle Casino. No luck at the machines but no heavy lifting, light weight...

The room is built like a cave!
Mine was on the hoof. Yums.
