Good to hear! All the best on the sale, and I will look forward to seeing you out there somewhere not too far in the future. Maine?

Driver probably tried to do what his navigation system told him to do. Not always the wise choice!

All's well ... well, a mess, actually. Moving back into the house is easy; stowing everything, not so much! Plus I decided to reorganize the kitchen cupboards.... 😲
I need a nap!

One of the reasons I refuse to use one of them blankety blank things. Another reason is I don't care for anyone else telling me where to go. I navigate using Google Maps satellite view. It has only failed me once and even that was minor.

Barb.
The GPS in the CR-V is great and RV760 Garmin is beyond great. I especially like the traffic notifications, speed limit change ahead, Sharp turn 1 mile ahead from the Garmin. I would not be without them.
I do the things you do as well but these new fangled buggy whips are great.
The other side of the coin is you are telling it where you want to go. I gives you directions. It can't make you go anywhere you don't want to...

It may get you there, eventually, but does it take you the best way? I guess I have ridden with too many friends who argue with the stupid things about every 5 miles to feel comfortable giving my life, my home, my furkids and Smarty over to one. It could be you have newer models or better units. But then again I have been looking at a LOT of Oregon campground websites lately and a surprising number have "DON'T trust GPS to get you here" clearly printed on the homepage. I believe Catherine's Landing is one.
I'm glad yours work well for you. I think I'll stay with Google maps with the sound muted for now. My Dad used to entertain me on long car trips by handing me the Gulf Oil paper map and having me find cities, highways and as I got older routes.

Saw a few of the sites in Gallup today.
Wayne - tell Earlene we say one of the murals on town. They have construction going on around old town - streets with detours, streets turned into 1 way... Barb - the GPS was worthless for directions but great as an interactive street map! And from the hill I could see a church in the distance. Annie loves to visit churches.

I started using Waze. It runs on IOS devices, perhaps Androids as well (probably). I find it the most informative of all these tools because 1) thousands and thousands of people also run it, feeding the data and 2) it's smart enough to suggest alternative routes to get around traffic problems, even if it jumps you one or two exits around the problem. It's a really smart app and you can use it like a GPS with it telling you turn by turn or you can just leave it in map mode and it will just alert you to road issues.
For example, it tells me when there's a vehicle stopped by the side of the road, where police are, road hazards, all with 1/2 mile warning marks. The first few times I used it I didn't like it much but after these longer trips I've taken, I find it very helpful. The only downside is it won't route anything over 1,000 miles, so you have to do short hops with it if you're going long distance.
One other comment, I use it in GPS mode a lot but if I don't like what it wants me to do I just ignore it and continue on my way. It'll recalc and adjust to those actions and then move along as I wanted to.
