Can anybody recommend a reputable diesel mechanic shop in Moab, Utah? It's a little town, so I'm not getting my hopes up. (May have to hold out for Salt Lake City.)
Few days ago, we found that the oil cap (where you pour the oil in) was loose and had worked itself off. Oil had sloshed out and grimied up the back engine bay doors and the rear of the coach below the doors. I cleaned it up and wound electrical tape around the cap and a piece of angle iron by it, and it has held the cap on. However, today I noticed more greasy grime on the bottom rear of the coach and on the Ready Brute tow bar. Is this in any way normal? I'm thinking I need to get it checked out.
Before we took possession of the coach, the dealer had the oil changed at my request. They shopped it out to Valvoline. I have had really bad luck with oil changes in the past (remember Bow/Murphy?).
Also, when I press the brake pedal, I'm hearing a squealing sound like metal on metal. Better have the brakes checked, too.
But we are not in populated areas for the next week. Durango or Moab would be the largest towns. I am so nervous about getting a bad mechanic again. Anyone know any good place in Moab or Durango or maybe Salt Lake City???

My tow bar will be filthy after a run of a fair number of miles. The roads are not a clean place.
Getting things checked is a good idea, one place I check is RV Service Reviews...

Mel... if you're still in Durango - when I was looking for service for Bonita, I read and heard from others that Farmington Freightliner was a good place for service. It's about an hour south of Durango if you're still there. Might give them a call if you're still in Durango.

Good morning from Hot Springs Arkansas. Rather inclement weather right now but it's passing through heading NE. Had a wonderful mini or midiC ( what is correct for 6 ) and broke bread with Richard,Anne, Tim and Mary, great food and great company, it doesn't get any better.

We have been holding our breath, saw 1" hail to our west & sent Ohhmmmss to the WX keepers to keep all of us safe...
I admit (as usual) I was WRONG... Our meeting of 3 RVMs are considered a MINI-C, not the midi... If Di had made it, it would have been a midi... Sorry for my mistake..
We certainly enjoyed the lunch, thanks for meeting up with us..

The GC in Maine is closer every day!
I have reserved the pavillion at Timberland Acres for 5PM on August 16th and 19th.
The park is fully booked now.
Are you ready to shout OH YEAH?

I'm not sure which direction you are heading but we find using Cummins Coach Care facilities have worked out well for us. The closest one is in Grand Junction, Co
Cummins Rocky Mountain, Llc

United States
Latitude:39.110673, Longitude:-108.63887599999998
Phone: (800) 564-6401

BTW...One GREAT resource is CUMMINS QUICKSERVE ONLINE. Once you locate your Engine Serial Number (ESN) and set up an account it can provide you a lot of good info on your motor and Cummins support facilities.
