TA DA Today is our anniversary. This is #49 for us. I'd say something silly about Mary Ann's age at the time of the wedding but many of you have seen Mary Ann. Many would not guess that she's been married that long. Let's just say that she was older than the gals in Arkansas have to be. And we're not first cousins either.
|
Congrats Papaw and Mary Ann! You are ahead of us by a year. 48 on June 22 (yes, I bought jewelry), ages 19 and 18, and proper according to Minnesota law, that being it was legal for her at 18, but I needed a note from my folks!
Yes, really

We didn't know either till they researched the damage.
Well things happen, and then back to the rainbow.

Careful Papa Steve, you may know some of them there brides! Congrats to both of you! By the way she was 21, me 20 and had to get my dad to sign for my license and no firearms involved!

When in Maine we'll have to compare our new roof stories. When you pick it up be sure to check any and everything even remotely connected to the roof. I had a list of things done wrong or not working!

RVMoon GC 8/2017-17 thru 8/23/2017
Greetings my Mutant Sisters and Brothers! I have exciting news about our RVMoon GC scheduled for August 17-23, 2017. I know this is a long way off, but since is coincides with the total solar eclipse on the 21st and August is a peak month for Oregon RV parks. It is wise to plan ahead.
Here is the park
River Mountain RV Park | Idanha, detroit lake, sisters, river mt rv
It is a very small RV park nestled under the trees and next to the Santiam River in Idanha, OR. I know we talked about being on the coast, but there is often morning fog that might block our view of the sky. They have FHU and 50 amp electric service, which is not available at many Oregon parks.
They currently have 3 astrology buffs who have reservations and a few full time residents, but the rest of the park is all ours if you reserve your space before August 15 of this year. Rates are $30/day or $150/week for FHU and $20/day or $100/week for dry camping.
You will need to call the park directly 503-854-3275 before August 15th of this year and tell Laurie or Jim Preston that you are an RV Mutant. Laurie asks that you call between 8-10 am or 6-9 pm PDT. They accept all 4 major credit cards and only require payment for the first day ($30 or $20) to hold your spot. Deposits are not refundable but are transferable, so I pretty much guarantee that you will get your $ back if you have to cancel. After 8/15/16 any remaining spots will be open to non Mutants.
You will not be assigned a site number when you call, but they will ask the length of your rig and whether you need 50 or 30 amps. They are making improvements to the park so things will change before we get there.
They have a covered pavilion that is ours and wood fires are allowed. They sell firewood or we can bring in our own.
Detroit Lake is nearby and the State Park has a campground, but they won't reserve this far out.
Detroit Lake State Recreation Area - Oregon State Parks and Recreation
I looked at many campgrounds in the full eclipse area. All the others were disappointing. I just drove past their billboard and turned around to take a look. I love this park and really enjoyed Laurie. I know this will be an epic GC, so don't miss it.
Got questions? Ask away!

Their website kept mentioning campnative and I had no clue what that is but it's a website that shows camping places and they have lots of details on the River Mountain RV Park. Click the link and you'll see more pics and such than the website for the campground shows.

Steve,
I forgot to mention that there may be fewer than 20 FHU sites and some are only 30 amp. I asked Laurie about August temperatures and she said she has never needed AC, even in August. About the time it gets warm, the afternoon breeze off the river kicks in.
I will reserve a 30 amp site, but will give it up to any Mutant wanting it and move down to dry camping.
Whoops, time to call Laurie.
