We are thinking about going up to the source of the mighty Mississippi River....

Would go first part of August as soon as new RV couch comes in....
Not sure what route we will be taking, but will give notice before we start out.....

Anyone have any tips/suggestions once we get up there in Minnesota area?
Places to stay and see....

And please remember to update your location on the RVillage Mutant map.....
It does make it easier to see who is where....
It is a closed group... If you are not a member,
You cannot see it...

Diane toftSFM#64....... (The Original Fast Talking Sliding Finger Mutant) and is retired, duh!

Di, Richard, any storm damage? We sat holding newest grandchild in basement till it passed. Power was out for over 4 hours with one tree snapped off half way up and tons of limbs down. Mary said she was going to have to call our lawn boy, ME! Just what I needed before leaving on our trip, sore muscles.

We grew up in Mn!
Itasca SP was our first BIG camping trip in 1957. It was a thrill to walk across the stones where The Mighty Mississippi begins!
I'll dig up some goodies for you and Larry.

Good year for blackberries: I picked a gallon off my little patch this morning. Sorbet? Ice cream syrup? Other suggestions? There might be enough to share.

My concern is that it is only the beginning.

Sue I feel an explanation is needed here! Our initial intention was to stop in and visit with you and Martin. Then our departure was delayed because the new grandchild was late! Then we got our hands on that new baby that lives right next door, y'all met her father at our house, and we pushed our departure back a few more days. Now we depart Monday and will be flying low as we pass your area so as to make our arrivals where we have made a reservation. If something changes we have both of your numbers and will call, especially if we need bail money!

A gallon! My 6yo GS and I picked and picked and picked and only wound up bringing home a little over a pint! But then again, we did eat a lot while picking
