Papaw Steve, all this weather seems to be slipping south of you, with the possible exception of some rain. It's your lucky day!

We've just been out picking up twigs & small branches. It'll be kindling for autumn fires in the fireplace. Looks as if it will take that long to dry out!

Hey Sue! Speaking of blackberries -- they ripen later here in the PNW. There's a really good chance we'll find them and other farm goodies ready for picking while we are in Oregon next August. Check out this link for more info --

Oregon Harvest Calendar crop harvest calendar - When fruit and vegetables are normally available and ready to pick in Oregon Harvest Calendar

As that great bard Jimmy Buffet stated, "growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional." Seems like this is a way of life for RVM's. As I tell the DW and anyone else who will listen, "I'm only 39, and this year I will celebrate the 31st anniversary of my 39th birthday." If it's good enough for Jack Benny, it's good enough for me. Don't need, nor do I miss birthdays in the 40's, 50's, etc.

As for grown up decisions. I've made a few. They're mostly overrated and should be avoided if possible. Hence the popularity of alternative medicine, homeopathic cures and such. If there's a childlike option, I recommend trying it first! Especially when lobstah, clam digs, and mutants are involved. I've mentioned this before... the first play I saw my Aunt Bonita in was Peter Pan. She led the lost boys with ghusto and I've been a fan of perpetual childhood ever since!

Were stents coming out today or tomorrow? Wonder how it went if it did...

Sweet!!! Glad to hear they're out and things are sounding better already

Big thunderstorm came blowing through here a little while ago, got to see how well my screen shelter stood up to it (along with the performance of the new gutters!). Learned you can't keep the side shades rolled up on the screen house as they accumulate lots of water really quickly so after dropping them in the pouring rain (I at least had an umbrella), things held out really well over the course of the storm. Even with the high cost that thing is already proving itself to be a good deal. Stayed dry on the inside even with all the shades flapping about (I forgot to zip them up before getting back inside). Winds were easily 40mph or so, very happy still...oh yea, gutters did exactly what they were supposed to do, yippee!

Good enough for Benny, good enough for me too. Same as you telling people that since my 1st 39th. Looks like we're the same age Jake at 39. Just that I'm on my 28th, soon to be 29th, Anniversary!
