R U an RV Mutant too?

Hello Mutants near and far:

Mary and I have been very busy mutants. Ellie continues her puppy training, although she just turned a year old. She is a wonderful pup, and she loves camping. She is a Canine Good Citizen now!

We are still on the hunt for our next rainbow rider. We are out every weekend camping, and will be back in south Myrtle Beach for a while right after Labor Day. (Tim, Mary, Jackie, Rezman, Pam, Mark, Clay - you up for a reunion?) We have pretty much settled on a rig, but won't jump until the money suits me. So far, the bait is just dangling, but we're not in any hurry...we're happy swimming in the pond for now. Maybe the bait gets sweeter, maybe not. I do know we can be patient people.

I've shared offline that Mary and I were involved in a very unpleasant encounter with three young gentlemen at a state park while camping over Memorial Day weekend. They were locals, and thought it necessary to harass us (because we are a married couple, for the newbies) to the point that we felt very threatened and unsafe. The park police force was short-staffed, and with a large park and four campgrounds to patrol, they could not offer any real assistance.

Mary and I came to the realization that even though we wish it to be so, life isn't all rainbows and butterflies, so we took our personal protection into our own hands. We have been taking classes and have a great range instructor/home defense professional working with us. We now feel much safer should we encounter a situation in the future. I wish it hadn't come to this, but it has and we've found that we enjoy our training time and the sporting aspects.

To those hurting (physically or psychically), many ohms.

We miss you mutants...

Y'all are spending summer in the wrong places. We had sunny and 72* this afternoon with a gentle breeze here in Seattle.

They're Bonnie & Clyde, rascals for sure.

We started out to just get one to replace the min pin we lost. These guys were the last two in the litter, and the breeder would not separate them. They are 10 years old nowand spoiled rotten.

Oh Elizabeth -- it makes me so sad to hear about the troubled bigots that you encountered.

Hugs to you and Mary!

It's good to hear from you, and especially good to know you are safe. So sad that anyone has to face what you did...ever. You seem to be doing the best possible thing in taking instruction in self-defense. I hope you only ever have to use it for enjoyment.

On with the rainbow rider! When it's right, I'm sure you'll snap it right up. Here's looking forward to meeting you both out there on the rainbow one day. 😎

Oh stop it, you tease! IL this time of year is usually uncomfortable, but this is ridiculous! I believe I'd take Seattle in a heartbeat!
