Unfortunately they were never socialized properly. As a result they don't get along well with other dogs. I tend to say that Clyde doesn't like any dogs other than Bonnie, and he's not too fond of her.

Wayne, you're right, Clyde thinks he's a Great Dane, not afraid to start a row with anything. Once he gets his butt whipped though, he comes running to me for protection. Problem is that he's just like me, doesn't learn from his mistakes.

Friday I meet with an eye specialist surgeon to deal with a cataract on my left eye. Will have it done in September. Remove cataract and set my vision to good vision at a distance (not close up). Presently my vision is very blurry and fuzzy in that eye and I'm seeing double with that eye. My eye doctor said it's ezzy pezzy,
Had both of mine done last fall. Now I ask myself why I waited so long.

Wayne, I'd like to be in my hometown of Eureka myself. Sounds like your seeing a nice corner of Humboldt County.

There were two of them off-leash the other day and Earlene was walking Miya, a 73 pound Husky. They came charging out at Miya and Earlene had all she could do to keep Miya from tossing them like a fluffy toy. Earlene got hurt again when she strained a muscle. We did report this one and the manager went and talked to them. The woman said she would put up her fence outside and the manager told her that from the RV to the fence they would be on a leash.

The problem with a dog off leash is that when it is coming towards another dog on a leash, the other dog does not know if the rush is friendly or aggressive so they go on the defensive. Miya will definitely protect us.

Well come on home!! You lived in a great area. The weather is fantastic. That ride on 211 was something else. When I get to a Wifi area I'll put some pictures up on my web for viewing.

Elizabeth and Mary, sorry to hear there are a few out there with phobias that want to impress themselves. Sad.
From all that I have talked to, I'm going to be happy with the eye procedure.

Elizabeth and Mary. X2 what he said.

We live with one of those little dogs who thinks she is invincible. Lily, who is all of of 8 pounds, once chased a HUGE coyote that was eyeing Sena. Had there not been a human chasing after them both, Lily would have been a coyote snack. Her over developed protective instincts for both Sena and me has her barking at every little noise. The only thing she fears are loud booms from fireworks, gunshot and thunder.

Woot! Good-lookin' bunch, recognizable by their silhouettes. 😁 Musta been having a good time, too, because there is evidence of food!

Mel & Kate are stopping in for the weekend on their way northeast. I'm so looking forward to this! Two Texans stuck in the middle of the July corn & beans of IL...they won't know quite what to make of all this green, unless IA has prepared them. Tell 'em, Steve, from one Texan to another. 😅😓

This area of CA has some really rocky shoreline and lays claim to the most seismic activity of any in the state. From the coast, we visited Petrolia, a tiny town given its name because it is the location of the first oil pumped in CA. It lies in the valley of the King Range. Mattole Road leads into Humboldt Redwoods State Park. It is the most serpentine we have ever, ever, ever been on and kept Wayne totally absorbed. He'll have to look at my hundreds of photos to see what he missed.
Lovely pics, Earlene. And I can just hear Wayne: "Never ever ever again omigod how did we pick this road Earlene is this your fault?"

Martin would have thought something like "Yeah, in a sports car, okay, but never ever ever again in the MH!"

Really? Obviously I've underestimated Texas. Again. 🙄

Hugs on tap.
