Our first effort thanking all of you for your support and ohms. You're a special group. Why else would we travel this grand country of ours to meet up with you all - - - even Tim. LOL Just couldn't resist the temptation.

Steve and Mary Ann -- I hope that your family finds peace with your sister's decision soon. I've been through hospice with Mom, Dad and Wanda, my stepmom who raised me from age 8 to 18. Letting go of someone you love is never easy. Hugs to you both.

Sandy has decided to refuse treatment and nourishment during her current stay in the hospital. Hospice seems to be on the horizon.
For at least the last 10 years, Sandy has 1) a major stroke that left the left side of her body useless, 2) a major heart attack, 3) a couple of "mini" strokes, 4) homebound or a patient in rehab facilities and more recently bedridden in nursing homes, 5) a couple of bouts with pneumonia per year (probably caused by asperating liquids into her lungs, 6) etc., etc.
I don't want her to die but life has offered little enjoyment for the last several years. Her only living son has immense health issues also and he has been the most dedicated caregiver known to man. He is exhausted, scared, and angry at the prospect of losing his mom.
I told her son, Ron, that it is best to support the decision made by his mother and to know that she is ready to give up the battle. That everyone has the right to determine their own destiny. He agreed with that a little bit. I think.
Pray for peace during this time of tormenting circumstances. Thanx in advance for your prayers, kind thoughts, and ohms from a fellow mutant.

At a certain point....you become solely a recipient of care, simply a body needing someone to care for it....it then becomes a great debate...try to keep that body/heart pumping/kidneys doing their job, etc. Or do we just let nature take it's course...she chose nature's inevitable end, and while it makes those around her sad...is it mean to make them keep on being imprisoned in that state? She's already done a long time in a pretty compromised state. Give him time to adjust....grieve. Maybe he will come around to understanding before she leaves this plane of existence.

Sorry, meant to include my sad sentiments regarding Papa Steve's predicament also. It's never easy, I was grateful my mom made up her mind when she had her last stroke and the last thing she told me when I was pleading her to let me take her to the emergency room was, And I say No! When I told her my sister the nurse said it was what we should do. Last thing she ever said. She passed about 4 days later. She was a nurse and knew this was the one. Lost use of her vocal skills and swallowing after that.

Um....thanks, Mel....I think.
Each RVM is a "subject", a character. Some are more defined "characters" than others. Tim and Wayne are good examples.
Such kind flattery has earned you a highly coveted and sought after RVM Challenge, lucky lady!
You are hereby Challenged to create an RV Mutant Ponder, a POW (Play On Words).
I laid out a bit of bait, Mel. You bit. Are you game?
Any other Mutant Challenge takers?

Yield not to temptation!
Well it's a little late for that, but one jab I can take! By the way, I'm still waiting on my new gun to arrive!
Steve I trust you know your sisters heart and beliefs. My good friend died at a very early age but on our last conversation he said he had no fears cause he was assured a place in heaven. I'm convinced heaven exist and is a far better place than the rainbow we ride. Let's pray your sister has that same assurance.

Well I'm fresh out of word play at the moment. It might be the BLT and 1/2 I just ate... that has to be one of the best samiches there is. Simple, crispy, crunchy, salty, leafy, fresh.
