No good deed goes unpunished! I volunteered to paint the concrete front porch and steps this afternoon. When I started painting it was sunny and 78*. Once I got down to the middle step it was cloudy and 65* and had started to sprinkle.

Did you know that pouring paint directly on old, pitted concrete and then spreading it around with a paint pad is a very effective way to get steps painted in a hurry? Just hope it doesn't wash away.

Papaw Steve -- I hope you can feel the love and concern we all have for your entire family. I know that you have the wisdom and courage to survive this.

HUGS!

Barb, I'll be interested to see if it survived the rain... update us when it's dry...Maybe you will have invented a new cool texture and method that will storm the pintrest sites, etc...

While everyone is wishing away the heat and ready for cool fall weather, etc... I'm still hoping it hangs on a bit as this year was lousy for tomatoes... I do have them on the vines, but they are all the wrong color, and I'm hoping it stays hot long enough for at least some of them to ripen.
Today, at the last Farmer's market of the year for us, I was hoping
to sell my habaneros and jalapenos and the habanero peach jam I'd made... and I thought "I wish I'd made a sign to put out that says... When life gives you Habaneros, make Jelly..."

Marty, I seem to remember that you can cut the tomato vines off just above ground level right before the first frost (or is it the first freeze?). Then hang them upside down in the basement. The maters will continue to ripen.

I do sure miss home grown tomatoes. Some of the neighbors here in Seattle grow them instead of grass in the strip between the sidewalk and the street. Saw some ripe ones today. I almost stopped to see if the would sell me some. Maybe tomorrow. <slurp>

One of the things I like about Northern NM is how pleasant 60 degrees is. The ponder is - if 60 is so warm - why the heck is 40 so cold... lol. 32 is still freezing I guess, but I sure like this brand of 60!

So what's it like on your part of the rainbow...
