Say, do you think all the newbies know about the RVMoon GC in August? Oregon will never be the same after we are there to egg on the eclipse. The weather should be WONDERFUL as well.

I'm stopping in Idanha on my way south to scope out all the possibilities. I'll try not to let Laurie and Jim find out all of the peculiarities of this bunch. Sena, Lily and I will be on our best behavior.

I think if they have read and comprehended at least any two previous random posts then they already know.

Are Deb and Laura RVM material?
They are definitely RVM material. Told them all about youseguys and they were intrigued. But they don't have an RV and likely will not have one until closer to their retirement. Laura has asked us to nudge Deb toward the idea of fulltiming in a motorhome. (Laura would do it in a heartbeat, Deb not so fast.) So, in light of that request, we invited them to join us in VA for a few days and they cleared their schedules so they can. 😎

Laura works for a non profit (22 or 23 years there) and is one of the "bosses" so has some flexibility. Deb is an acupuncturist and has her own thriving practice. She just moved some patients around to clear an extra day next weekend. So, they will join us Saturday for 3 days. Deb will no doubt catch the bug whilst with us and they can start planning their escape. We suggested they go shopping for their first RV at Always RV in Mesa, AZ. 😎 Laura is excited to get Deb on board with the idea. But it will be 10 or so years before they're retired. (They're that much younger than us.)

By the way, Deb used her needles on me and in a matter of minutes got rid of a headache I'd been battling. It's unbelievable how effective it is!

Ya know...it isn't essential to have an RV nor be a full timer...their disclaimer could go something like...My future RV doesn't have maintenance issues and I don't miss it...

Wayne,

You did send me your theme song, I still wasn't ready for the unicorn bit.

Mary had her dental surgery yesterday, gum graft and implants. She had blocked out how much it hurt the last time and was not prepared for it. She keeps saying it didn't feel like this the last time. Maybe she had better drugs then. Anyway, it's over and she is on the road to recovery. A few days to start feeling better and we're on the road to AZ barring any problems. We have to be back around Xmas time for the follow up to fit the new dentures and I have another appointment with my dermatologist, too much sun in my younger days.

Happy and safe travels to everyone on the road.

Jake

I'd also suggest they try it out first (after they visit you, of course), possibly by renting an RV for some short breaks. Close to home might be best for that. 😉

I tend to agree, Kate looks entirely at ease and we all know Mel is always having fun!
