Ok y'all -- somebody needs to start posting. I know most of the mouthy folks are down in Fburg. If you don't want me to change what that F stands for I need to see and hear about what's going on down thar.

And those of you that read this list but rarely post need to take up a little of the slack. And all you lurkers -- now is the time to declare your mutantcy and join this group of merry miscredents. It really a tough test but I'll give you the answers. Shh, don't tell on me now.

Question 1 -- name 2 or more things that your RV doesn't have and you don't miss. My answer is -- a 50 amp power cord and a tag axle.

Question 2 -- repeat the RVM motto (The Journey is the Destinaion)

Ok, no more excuses!

And as for my report of today's activities -- Deb, Sena and I did a bit of sight seeing today. We went to the Nez Perce National Historical Site just north of Lewiston and then to the top of this big a-s hill that US 95 takes on the way into town and came back down the old road that has more S than Mississippi. Next we went to find the plaque that commentates where Mary the elephant lost her life because she wanted a drink of water. We returned to Garland's place the back way along the Snake River.

Lewiston, ID is a really neat place to stop for a few days.

More about the Nez Perce park visit --

https://www.nps.gov/nepe/index.htm

We were fortunate to be there when the park curator, Robert Chenoweth -- a Nez Perce gentleman, was there. He answered our questions and played songs on his tribal flute.

I also found the video to be quite compelling. Like all the native cultures I have been exposed to, the Nez Perce feel strongly bonded to the earth, especially their tribal homelands. They speak about the land with great reverence and giving thanks for all the gifts given to them by the Creator.

All Nez Perce have 3 names -- tribal, the English translation of that tribal name, and their name for legal purposes.

Mr Chenoweth also told us the word for monkey in his language and wrote it down phonetically. I'll practice it before attempting to repeat it. He says it means mimic or copy cat. So the term "monkey see, monkey do" predates European settlers on this continent.

As to Mary, the elephant -- here's where you can find out more --

Note to self, when visiting Idaho don't take your pet elephant! I wonder if it will be safe to take DW Mary? Well I guess I'll just keep her well hydrated! Morning all, today we finish son's barn raising.

To continue....

We're having a great time here in SE England. Unfortunately, our phones, which have to be in airplane mode to avoid international roaming, will not communicate with the router in our rental cottage but will connect with any other open wifi we can find. Anyway, we are now at the north end of the line in the railway cafe enjoying a snack and their open wifi.
Here are a few snaps of what we have seen. ( hopefully right side up)
