I was looking for stair tread for the entry and noticed a color that doesn't square with my reality....

There are no capuchin monkeys that color, but if the truth be told that looks an awful lot like the color of capuchin monkey's sweat. Yep! My sweet Sena perspires orange from her sweat glands. I guess a color named "capuchin sweat" wouldn't have many buyers.

Dave,
Hayden's smile says it all. She must be getting cuter everyday. How old is she now?

Barb, Martin reminds me to tell you that you might want to get a guided Jeep tour out to Antelope Canyon from Page, if you haven't already done it. That is the Indian-owned slot canyon often featured in SW travel magazines. Well worth the time & money!

Rolling out of Tucson Saturday, heading to Williams AZ for a week. Trying to decide about taking the train up to the Grand Canyon. A little pricy.
Joined Passport America at the Escapees gig recently. It just paid for itself with the discount for this reservation...

9 months next week!
She has a snarky smile like her Momma.
Brad has evenings off for getting together, and weekends for staying over! The hoopla begins soon.

It took me about a millisecond to decide it was a good day to get off the mountain. I was hoping to stay put for 7-10 days and get caught up on some projects. At 7300' elevation it was a nice place to visit, but this is better suited as a summer venue which means not for us ever again.
I have now adopted a new saying, though. Instead of "as plain as the writing on the wall" I'll be using "as plain as the snow on the kayak".
We left the forest NE of Flagstaff and traveled north (and 2,500' lower) to Page, AZ. The headwinds were fierce and the road was like a carnival ride in places but the painted desert scenery is stunningly beautiful. Page is on the shores of Lake Powell and there is beautiful scenery everywhere. I just hope we can park it someplace for a while. Going too much further north is bound to be too cold.

While around Page, ya' gotta' see the Carl Hayden Visitor Center just across river (about a mile from page)...
Then a few miles west on 89, there is a visitor center with displays of dinosaurs being excavated in the area of the "Grand Staircase-Escalante "
Both awesome !!!

I ran into one of the tour guides at the gas sstation yesterday. That's definitely on my list while we're here. Stay tuned for pics of an AMAZING natural wonder.
And Richard I'll check that out, too. I'm trying to find some boondocking space nearby, but from looking at 25+ RVs here at Camp Wally World, I'm not encouraged. But the weather is wonderful and Page is large enough to have all the businesses I need -- just not a Lowe's or Costco. It's laundry time <groan> and I need a muffler shop and machine shop for some minor repairs.

This morning's first cuppa is outdoors to the accompaniment of a mule braying. Something about that sound always makes me smile. Can't be bad, eh?
'Morning, all!
